Café Momentum est un restaurant à but non-lucratif qui aide les mineurs délinquants à se réinsérer dans la société en leur offrant un stage rémunéré. . Les jeunes sont remis en liberté en suivant un programme dans ce milieu protégé de Café Momentum. Ce programme enseigne des compétences essentielles qui permettent aux jeunes de réintégrer la société dans un environnement professionnel sûr tout en leur conférant des responsabilités. En participant à notre programme, les jeunes découvrent tous les aspects des métiers de la restauration, du service aux tables à la plonge, tout en travaillant avec des chefs qui leur font profiter de leur expérience. Le stage rémunéré leur donne la possibilité d'exercer et de pratiquer leurs nouvelles compétences tout en continuant à développer leur leadership et leurs compétences sociales, professionnelles tout aussi longtemps qu'ils souhaitent rester dans l’environnement de Momentum Café. En outre, Café Momentum travaille avec le ministère de la Justice pour mineurs du comté de Dallas pour soutenir les jeunes considérés comme ayant le plus grand risque d'incarcération..

Excellent food and atmosphere. Knowing that young people were being helped made it better. The only criticism I would offer was that the waiters were very shy teenagers (which is quite normal and understandable). The mentors might consider teaching the teenage waiters to let their positive personalities shine through — to come out of their shells and be a bit more lively and smiley. I know becoming sure of your own voice comes with time and experience, so it’s all good!

It's hard to decide which is better -- Cafe Momentum's mission to create opportunities for justice-involved youth or the food that they serve. If you're not familiar with Cafe Momentum, be sure to ask your server about it. As for the food, we started with the cauliflower elotes, and they hit the spot while not being too heavy -- normally I get the house-made bread basket but wanted to try a different starter. Next, I had a salad followed by the braised lamb served on a decadent bed of rice grits. My buddy had the steak au poivre that was cooked to a perfect medium red. We were too full for dessert, but next time I'd love to try the white chocolate bread pudding. A delicious meal and great organization to support all wrapped into one!

Our dinner tonight at Cafe Momentum was terrific!! It was wonderful being served a delicious dinner by students learning new skills to help prepare them for being educated adults with skills to take with them in to adulthood. The dinner was delicious! It was nothing short of a win win for everyone! MLD

Great service. Delicious fried chicken and breads especially the biscuits. Tasty calamari. Attentive staff. Very enjoyable experience all around.
