Again, the lunch at the Modern was very good. Monica gave us very good service. Although the pond was drained for normal maintenance (their website had alerted us), the Modern is always a comfortable place to dine. My wife and I enjoyed watching the younger couples on dates who had "stars in their eyes" for each other.

Delicious food and ambiance. Everyone in our party enjoyed their lunch choices very much. There was a little mix-up with our wine choice which was quickly corrected. We will return soon.

We got there before it got busy and still waited 35 mins for an order but took our order to the wrong table… when the person at the table (it was right next to us) said no to 2 orders, that should have been a clue to the server it was the wrong table. They then brought one order to our table and then put in the other order AGAIN… after another 15 mins and no 2nd order we got up to leave and then the other order came. Our order were only a burger and to wait that long when it wasn’t busy, not get orders corrected and our server was very un personable and lacked any communication and follow up. Will not be back.

It took more than 45 minutes after we ordered to get our food, and the order ended up being wrong.

Pretty place, food is ok. Service is painfully slow, even when you can find them. There were about as many servers as occupied tables. That said they seemed to mostly hang out by the kitchen BSing with one another.

Our only complaint would be how cold it was in the cafe. I know the pool must be under some maintenance, but it will be so lovely to see it again when we dine next time. The food was excellent, and the service was very good.

After years of eating there I have decided yesterday was the last time. There were four of us and I was the only one to finish my meal but only because I was very hungry. Things were either over-cooked or undercooked and basically bland. The waitress was nowhere to be found to request salt and pepper. She never asked if we needed anything, if everything was satisfactory, no refill of water or asking if we would like another cocktail or dessert. The is the second time in a month that I and my friends have felt this way. One friend remarked that all the waitstaff looked miserable. We will just eat at the Kimbell which is always good.
