We had a lovely time and the atmosphere was brilliant. Personally I found the music a little too loud for conversation. The singer has a tremendous voice and it is very charming to enjoy dinner to such lovely music but it makes it hard to hear each other at times Food wise - We were disappointed in our duck - dry and a bit tough and tasteless as a result. The rest was good. But overall the experience was positive and we will return as we appreciate the environment, the service and the effort. A

The fact the they sent me a confirmation email the to state that they were looking forward to seeing me, I arrived at 1825 for an 1830 booking to find a note on the door stating “we are shut for refurbishment.” As you can imagine was not at all best pleased as it was booked for an anniversary.

Booked a table for a rare night out as a group of four. One other group of four were the only other customers. Wine order taken reasonable promptly followed by our food order. 40 mins later had to go & ask for some more wine as hadn’t been checked on once since. After another 25 minutes some of our food arrived but not all. The salads arrived with no dressing so we asked for some. I was offered mayo or pesto dressing for a nicoise but specifically asked for a French dressing. Some more food arrived followed by some pesto dressing - when I reasked for a french dressing was asked what that was?! Brought out some oil & balsamic. A fellow diner’s duck was tough served with cold potatoes so that was sent back and a soup reordered in the hope it would be quick, it wasn’t. The other table of customers also had issues, notably ordering sea bass fillets & being brought out a whole fish. Instead of the chef taking it off the bone for her they made her order something else - crazy waste of food. The waitress seemed to have limited authority & when we asked to speak to someone else was told the chef couldn’t speak any English. She was understandably upset at neither set of customers being happy & whilst she wasn’t the most attentive waitress I did feel for her being left with out the training or skills to deal with things. How can a restaurant with the capability to seat about 30 not cope with 8 diners? She did ring the owners who were going to come but a little later we were told they couldn’t make it. We paid for the two bottles of wine & left disappointed not to return.

Absolutely loved it there. My partner had been asking to got for a few weeks and so glad we went. Food was amazing. We will definitely be back again soon.

First visit to Northampton so looked at reviews before deciding. Glad we came as we both thoroughly enjoyed the food we had. The decor is very neat and tidy with a welcoming atmosphere and the waiter was efficient and friendly. Thank you.
