Café Con Leche opened its doors in 2001 on Milwaukee Avenue in the heart of Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. It’s become a popular restaurant for dinner, lunch, and breakfast in Logan Square.

Since then, Café Con Leche has been serving both Mexican breakfast favorites and Latin dinner classics, paired with delectable desserts and coffees. From fresh salsas with a perfect balance of spices, to delicious slow-roasted pork and savory meats, there’s something delectable for everyone.

First time traveling to the Logan Square neighborhood. The restaurant was recommended by a friend so I figured I would try it out. I am a big fan of Latin food and what I loved was the modern twist on popular staple Mexican, Puerto Rican and South American dishes. It was Latin taste in modern healthy dishes. I had the Camarons in a nice chipotle sauce with black rice and mushrooms in the center. I also started off with the Tuna appetizer which was a delightful treat for those who like Sashimi but with a mezcal chili flavor.... all very yummy! Our weight staff was extremely attentive, friendly and informative. Sophia the server had the order perfect and explained all the difference between the dishes. Carlos the the assistant waiter kept the table extremely clean and the water always full. What an excellent experience.

The best part of this dining experience was the mariachi. They played a wide variety of songs and were very talented. The salsa had no flair, the blackened tilapia tacos didn’t taste blackened at all. The ceviche was excellent! Our server was great and the host very accommodating!

Great! Logan square staple. We dined outside on the back patio. Mojito and chips and salsa to start. My friend had the special cocktail for the day and the fish tacos. I enjoyed the steak jibarito with rice and black beans. We shared the cajeta crème brûlée for dessert. Good friendly service and delicious food!

I brought a group from out of town and they loved the food. It’s small and cozy but food is great.

The food was great, we had the Restaurant Week menu. It was also SO MUCH FOOD. Service was excellent and attentive. Our only complaint would be that the place is a little crowded, tables are close together and walking aisles are tight.
