I am a new Miami resident and I stopped here for breakfast my first day and it was amazing. The outdoor seating was very relaxing. I ordered the French toast, eggs, and a Bellini and I wouldn’t complain about any of it!

Like a diner on Ocean Drive… The venue is comfortable, airy, and spacious, all of which is agreeably welcomed considering the place is right at Ocean Drive, where space is a luxury. We were there for breakfast and neither the variety of the dishes nor the food itself disappointed. I wish we could have tried more food, but the portions were considerable. We ended up having the French toast (vast for two and probably could do with a bit less sugar), and the pancakes (perfect in size, taste, and fluffiness); coffee was great!!! The service is friendly and expedite, probably a bit more casual than desired (think more of a diner than a restaurant), but for breakfast you can turn a blind eye and still enjoy your meal. Finally, although we were there on a Monday morning and the place felt deserted, I heard reservations are a must on weekends, so be mindful of that. Overall, Café Americano is probably one of the best breakfast options on Ocean Drive: it is unpretentious, comfortable, has a nice view (though not the ocean), and although a 20% service surcharge is added to your check (as probably everywhere in touristy Miami nowadays), it is still reasonably priced.

They wouldn’t let us eat outside, even though we specified outdoor seating on our reservation. No explanation or anything. And the food was okay . drinks were good and the server was good, it’s cute inside as well just wasn’t what we wanted and not as cute as outside!

Great outdoor breakfast dining experience directly right opposite south beach. Loved the ambience and music. Ordered the avocado on toast with burrata which was absolutely delicious. Fab spot to relax and take in the south beach surroundings.

Based on reviews I had read, I was expecting good but not great food. There were 6 in our party. EVERYONE of us felt we had EXECELENT FOOD. And to be honest, we can be picky and have eaten in fine dining restaurants around the world. I highly recommend the fish and chips. While chips could have been better, the fish was as good as I had in London. Others had tacos and salad. All loved their food, in addition to the atmosphere. Made for a great evening.

Food was good not great, service was decent and pleasant, music was loud on the patio but it is South Beach and that’s the vibe. Great people watching. Worth a try if in the area.

Really nice setting amongst all lots of great places on Ocean Drive. Nice location, nice food and great service. Will be looking to explore more options in the future to better understand how Cafe Americano compares. For now it was a great experience.
