This is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is very good and very tasty. Very good menu. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Lovely relaxing atmosphere also. Highly recommend.

The food is always excellent and the staff very friendly. We went for Sunday lunch on this occasion and it was delicious. The roasts were fantastic. The Nutella calzone dessert was to die for! I did have to have a doggy bag though.

We were seated to the right of the front door, and the ambiance, decor and service left us feeling a bit forgotten, although the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Staff were helpful and friendly, but service was a bit slow overall. Pre starter breads and olives were very good, with a generous amount of oil and balsamic. Of the main courses we had, the cauliflower steak was well cooked and tasty, the best of the ones we had. The risotto with mussels was disappointing - the mussels themselves were of ok quality, but the dish overall was bland, and there was no bowl of other receptacle for the shells. The seafood gratin was very disappointing - there was very little topping, and while the salmon and cod were just cooked, the prawns were underdone for my taste. The dish felt like it was prepared very quickly under a very high heat, so hadn’t really come together very well. The sauce was very thin, milky and watery, and the overpowering flavour was just of salt. The spinach and parsley was very sparse, and didn’t add any flavour. I appreciate that it might have been the intention to produce a light and delicate dish that tastes of the sea, but I found it disappointing and overwhelmingly salty. The plaice fillet was well cooked and the fish was tasty, but the dauphinoise potatoes were prepared as chunks rather than the slices we expected, and again it seemed to have been prepared very fast and very hot, so there wasn’t a lot of flavour. The triple cooked chips had a similar issue - they were crispy and the outside was tasty but the potato flesh inside was bland and disappointing, maybe a different potato variety would be better. Desserts were all very good and the price overall was fair.
