Welcome to CADENCE+ At The Strip. Our historical venue remembers the heritage of this iconic building. A modern day speakeasy, it’s a place to gather with your friends in a convenient downtown Pittsburgh location on Smallman Street. Our renovated space features made from scratch cooking, including lunch, shareable plates and full dinner service. You will find a curated selection of craft beers, specialty cocktails and fine wines, along with performances from local musicians. With an 8500 square foot event space upstairs, our restaurant, Cadence+ Cellars also features great spaces for hosting smaller, private events.

Food and service were good. Sat at the bar. Was a little put off by having to provide a credit card for $25 hold to make reservations. Could understand if restaurant was overly busy but there were plenty of open tables. Did not like having to do that and not sure I will in the future. Plenty of other great places to eat without having to secure reservation with credit card.

We were eagerly looking forward to treating my mom and mother-in-law to a special Mother's Day meal at this restaurant. However, our excitement quickly turned to disappointment when we learned that only a buffet was available, and we couldn't order from the regular menu. It caught us completely off guard, especially since it was already 2:30 in the afternoon on Mother's Day, leaving us uncertain about alternative dining options. To add to our frustration, our waiter didn't appeared surprised by our inquiry, mentioning that he had received similar questions from other tables that day. It was disheartening to realize that we weren't alone in feeling blindsided by the buffet-only offering, especially considering the $50.00 per person price tag for what turned out to be a small buffet. While the food was okay, it was evident that the staff wasn't accustomed to managing a buffet, as we encountered empty pans and a lack of serving dishes multiple times. It felt like the buffet wasn't being properly maintained, diminishing the dining experience. There seemed to be a breakdown in communication regarding the restaurant's offerings, and if buffets aren't something they're accustomed to, perhaps sticking to the regular menu would have been a better choice. It's essential for restaurants to ensure that their guests are informed about any changes to their usual service to avoid disappointing experiences like ours.

Booked here for Mothers day because it looked like they were serving their usual brunch menu. When we got there we were presented with an overpriced buffet menu. They should have done a better job advertising and open table should have also noted a special menu.
