Originally built in 1832 as the Cross Keys Hotel we have been serving the locals of Blaenavon and beyond for almost 200 years.

Beautiful place, would highly recommend, being a cook myself there were lil bits that could of been better but overall I was Lovley, We will return in the near future. The table service we received was excellent so Thanku girls.👌

The best Sunday lunch we’ve ever had. Definitely recommend the slow cooked beef, it was outstanding. I finished off with the pavlova which I do not regret as was equally outstanding! We’ll be back soon (whenever we’re able to get back in).

We visited BBK on a Friday eve to celebrate a birthday. We travelled up from Newport and was very much looking forward to eating here judging by the great reviews. The food was lovely. The bar and outside seating area are decorated really well. However we were extremely disappointed with the service. We had to ask to order our choices. We were not checked in on to see if the food was ok. After eating we asked for the dessert menu and had to ask again as it did not arrive. The best service we had was from the young lad who brought out our food from the kitchen. I’m happy to pay good money for good food, but service has to back this up and unfortunately the whole experience would put me off visiting again.

This was our first visit to Butterflies and won’t be the last. Customer service was excellent from the minute we walked in. The staff were friendly and cheerful. The venue was spotlessly clean and it has a beautiful beer garden/patio area. I wasn’t expecting the menu to be as extensive as it was. Because we had heard about the reputation for great steaks, I was surprised to see such a variety of other choices. We were a party of four, which included three grown men. All of us were delighted with our choices and we had a fabulous evening out.

Excellent food as always could not fault it, the lovely waitress who served us was kind enough to take the time to explain the desserts in depth which we found a good help. Top marks again we will be back very shortly.

Good was great wr had a little misunderstanding with the menu and didn’t realise it came with chips etc so ordered sides thinking we had to order those as well. Even though totally out fault it would have been nice to check that we were aware that it came with chips etc other wise we wouldn’t have ordered sides. It didn’t matter the little one had dinner for the following day. Great food great vibe will be back again.
