Service very slow, wrong drink provided, starter was poor the sourdough toasted bread wet and soggy, main dish was plentiful.

We were meeting up for a pre wedding dinner with family and friends from all over the country, Australia, New Zealand, New York & South Africa so we were unable to pre book our meals. The restaurant were soo helpful with getting us all seated within one area despite having a number of other customers. We were given two dedicated waitress who gently got the drinks and food orders together and separated the bills by table not an easy task. The food was great, hot, appetising and generous portions. Very reasonable prices and we all had a truly special evening to remember. Thank you to the management and staff for looking after us it was much appreciated.

It was our first time visiting The Butt Inn, celebrating 2 birthdays in our group. We had tried booking before, but was fully booked and understandably so. The food was fantastic.. We all had the Sunday roast, it was delicious, beef was full of flavour - everything was perfectly cooked. The roast was beautifully paired with the Cauliflower cheese. Most of us had lived in Kenya and very particular about our beef, and have tried other establishments in the South of England, BUT!! have to say The Butt Inn has exceeded all expectations of a flavoursome well cooked roast. To top it all, the service was excellent. It was very busy and the serving team were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making our family celebrations really special.

Perfect service and great atmosphere; relaxing lighting as apposed to bring brightly lit. Very clean and welcoming. Food was good; we felt we could have made it at home with fairly minimal effort, but that is not unusual. Would have been nice to have a little more variety on the plate - I had veg burger and chips (we are pescatarian), but would have been nice to have some onion rings and a side salad with an enjoyable dressing.
