Butchers cut is a contemporary grill and premiere steakhouse that offers an unmatched selection of beef, fish, and pasta. As the premier steakhouse of San Diego located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, we offer an ambiance with a rustic and vintage vibe that takes you back to a simple and classic era.     Party of 4, we all ordered the Filet, overcooked and did not have any taste. It was so dry.

    Originally we made reservations to eat at Greystone's (which is next door) but opted to eat here instead. Terrible decision on our part. The food was absolutely awful. We went with the "couples date night " menu which is a great deal. 2 wedge salads, 32oz tomahawk steak with mash potatoes and asparagus, and a dessert for $95 a couple. I should've known it was too good of a deal to be true. We also added a charcuterie board as an appetizer. I have had many charcuterie boards in my life, never have I ever had a board with canned peaches, mangos and canned maraschino cherries. On top of that the board included about half a cheese wheel of Parmesan and sandwich meat. The steak came out cut into slices on a lava stone. I made it clear that we normally eat our steaks medium rare. It came out that way but because they are served on a lava stone, they continue to cook so we ended up well done slices. The asparagus had no seasoning and looked like they were soaked in water. Please please please don't go here. It's not worth the money.

    Lamp chops were ordered medium-rare and came out medium-well and the steak was ordered medium-rare and came out medium. The special was ordered as well and was extremely overpriced.

    Easy reservations, sat immediately once we arrived , great atmosphere, good food . Would have preferred 30-45 day dry aged rather than the 21 day.

    Good food and perfectly cooked tomahawk. Service was good although pretty empty restaurant, you’d think you would get more attentive service. We opted for the “tomahawk special” and when I asked difference, was told it included accompaniments. I asked if same price as the tomahawk we were going to order and told yes. We opted to go with that but lo and behold, it was about $100 extra and the steak on lava stone wasn’t what we were served!! The excuse was “we must be out of them” and again restaurant was pretty empty. Also, the sides were asparagus, potatoes and a frisée salad. If we’d ordered it as we originally wanted, we’d definitely not have paid that much more. It was rather deceptive and for that reason, it left a bad impression!! Good steak but lack of service is the downfall.

    Muy buena. Gran experiencia. Muchísima comida para una pareja en la experiencia de pareja , obviamente no pudimos terminarla pero muy buen saber y excelente cocido!
