Butchers cut is a contemporary grill and premiere steakhouse that offers an unmatched selection of beef, fish, and pasta. As the premier steakhouse of San Diego located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, we offer an ambiance with a rustic and vintage vibe that takes you back to a simple and classic era. Our newly installed glass meat locker on the restaurant floor is a spectacle everyone must experience in person, where patrons can handpick the piece that catches their eye.     Excellent service. Great ambiance. We had the porterhouse steak which was smaller than an East Coast steakhouse would serve. Nice restaurant though and helpful staff.

    Wonderful team dinner at the Butcher’s Cut. The staff was very attentive and the food was great! Second time here and will definitely be finding my way back soon!

    Very mediocre meal for an outrageous price. New York strip (16oz/$46) was stringy and chewy.. couldn’t even finish it, could not cut it. Wagyu was unimpressive and flavorless.. I’ve had Wagyu multiple times and this did not come anyone close to comparison. Sides were bland (lobster mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts), my ($16) lobster bisque had not a single fleck of lobster in it I’m positive.. tasted like seafood stock gravy. The wine selection was generic and overpriced, the calamari was bland but cooked well. Our server aleksandra was wonderful, she came to check on us at appropriate times and displayed great planning skills with timing of courses. She also surprised us with a complimentary slice of cheesecake with a candle for my daughter’s birthday, very thoughtful.

    Food was over cooked and over priced . Sent it back and it wasn’t much better. Filet is dry , not tender and not juicy. Would not recommend.

    Steaks were not good and even the Wagu we ordered was not the grade it should have been. Shame because the place has a good atmosphere

    Awesome dining experience. We were a large party of 10 and the serving team was very attentive to our needs. Not to mention, all of the food was phenomenal from the appetizers to dessert. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the downtown San Diego area.

    Lobster bisque was runny… almost like water. Steak was undercooked, but they threw some fire at it and was yummy. Female bartender had zero personality and should never be behind a bar. We come here often, and tonight they missed. Oh well.
