Well the food was amazing… it was are 1st time here we drove 45mins to get there on a recommendation … so glad we did we will be back thank burnt truffle you didn’t let us down ❤️❤️❤️

Nice restaurant. Attentive staff. It was a busy Saturday and we were a big table eating early. Food is simple, staff were knowledgeable about their wine. We all had a lovely evening. Positives: staff, puddings not bad, N’duja bread fab, focaccia fab too. Development areas: steak was under seasoned and bland (for £63 sharing Sirloin you’d expect a bit of “hmmmm”) and half a chicken is literally half a chicken with some oregano sprinkled on -mains lack imagination but are pleasant. This was our second visit over 3 years but don’t live in UK, however remembered the good experience from first visit hence the trip. Would eat there again.

Excellent lunch this week . We chose the small plates , all of which were delicious and more than enough for 2 . Lovely member of staff provided a high level of service . Highly recommend

The staff and food were excellent as always. Unusually, there was a table of 5 upstairs talking very loudly throughout their meal. Not typical of the venue as normally just a nice balance between atmosphere and intimate dining. I got the feeling the staff raised the background music volume slightly to help.

Went to a first taster evening for my wife Beverley's birthday. Very well-balanced menu with 7 courses in all -though some are small bites of course. 4 wines accompanied different courses and a very knowledgeable sommelier gave lots of detailed information on each tasting. I think the hake was my favourite. Gently steamed then blowtorched to finish. Accompanied by a smokey roe taramasalata. The surprise was how much I enjoyed the chicken breast in a most wonderful tomato sauce. This was cooked sous vide to remain really moist and then briefly charred on the grill. We both really liked the custard tart, which reminded me of the best French pastries. This was served with a lovely Oz delicately sweet wine and a perfect match. Service was great and very friendly. Hope we can go again before the next birthday treat.

Relaxing, nice food, though I felt the choices I made were heavier than expected.... Crispy courgette, I expected tempura and it was a breaded coating. Very tasty but heavy on the stomach. The arancini balls were also very filling but very delicious!! All in all, very nice. Reasonably good value for money.

No Dandelion and Burdock, and said it was niche, whereas a Driver's Negroni wasn't! Very odd comment. Roast rather bland, however, Yorkshire puddings had the perfect rheology for a fine mouth feel. In conclusion, unlikely to go again unless desperate for a nibble.
