As one of the most beloved (and highest-rated) Italian restaurants in Chicago for over 22 years, the historic Buona Terra continues to serve scratch made pastas, brick oven pizza, fresh fish and seafood options as well as chops and steaks. The wine selection is meticulously chosen (and inspired by our yearly trips to Italy for the Vin Italy fair) to pair with our different plates made with the freshest ingredients.
Chef Chepe sources fresh items from the market daily. He butchers our fish and meats daily, makes all of our sauces and soups in house and most of our deserts. You might note that you see familiar faces as our servers have been with us since we opened our doors.

We come here every year on our anniversary and its always amazing. The food, staff, and atmosphere is spectacular!

This place has excellent service and amazing food. The garlic they bring to the table is addictive and for sale! The quality is outstanding! Do yourself a favor and go!

Every time we come here we get to try something different and every single time we are so impressed with our meal. It's like dining at a new restaurant every time. Can't wait to go back and try more menu items; and their specials.

This restaurant is wonderful. The food is incredible, the service amazing, the atmosphere, energetically Italian. Love this place. Everything great on the menu and their specials always delish. Also great wine menu.

The restaurant has a nice homey vibe. The grilled calamari and pasta dishes were very good. The fish special was not.

Wonderful relaxed pace to the meal. Proper attention, but not rushed. We split an appetizer and had three entrées. Sampled all, very good. Restaurant almost full when we left. Would go again.

Fabulous service , welcoming staff and owners. Pizza was excellent and the garlic spread with the warm fresh bread was amazing paired with a special of delectable mushroom soup, outstanding flavor yet light texture-a dream. Had great bottle from a good wine list. This place is such a find. Check it out
