As one of the most beloved (and highest-rated) Italian restaurants in Chicago for over 22 years, the historic Buona Terra continues to serve scratch made pastas, brick oven pizza, fresh fish and seafood options as well as chops and steaks. The wine selection is meticulously chosen (and inspired by our yearly trips to Italy for the Vin Italy fair) to pair with our different plates made with the freshest ingredients.
Chef Chepe sources fresh items from the market daily. He butchers our fish and meats daily, makes all of our sauces and soups in house and most of our deserts. You might note that you see familiar faces as our servers have been with us since we opened our doors.

Our first time. Make a reservation, especially on the weekend. Try the arancini (no meat). And loved the dish served with the bread - an excellent combo. We had the eggplant dish and the bucatini cacao e pepe. Each delicious. Nice wine selection, attentive waiter. No doubt that we will return. Always great to find neighborhood places to go to.

The food and service were outstanding. An enjoyable evening celebrating our 54th wedding anniversary. A fun place to go.

Brought my friends for the first time. They were disappointed in the pizza but the calamari, eggplant and arancini were fabulous.

Our favorite Italian restaurant. Service is always excellent and food is delicious. They also have a great selection of wines.

First of all the food was absolutely delicious. I had a group of eight and everyone loved their dish. Service for our group was attentive but not overbearing - perfect really. Ambiance was nice and mellow. Great experience and will repeat.

Went with family from out of town. Everything was great; I had difficulty understanding the waiter. There was a bday party hanging out at the bar before they were seated, so it was loud and hard to talk, but it was not their fault
