As one of the most beloved (and highest-rated) Italian restaurants in Chicago for over 22 years, the historic Buona Terra continues to serve scratch made pastas, brick oven pizza, fresh fish and seafood options as well as chops and steaks. The wine selection is meticulously chosen (and inspired by our yearly trips to Italy for the Vin Italy fair) to pair with our different plates made with the freshest ingredients.
Chef Chepe sources fresh items from the market daily. He butchers our fish and meats daily, makes all of our sauces and soups in house and most of our deserts. You might note that you see familiar faces as our servers have been with us since we opened our doors.

Buona Terra never disappoints. Always enjoyed every entree ordered. The biggest dining distraction is the acoustics in the restaurant. Once the restaurant fills up the noise level becomes uncomfortable. Besides the acoustics on a busy night the restaurant will not disappoint. I highly recommend Buona Terra. 👍

Been there several times. The pizza is amazing and the pasta is as well. A great restaurant for family and a romantic night as well.

Cacio de Pepe was phenomenal! We loved Rhys dish and we also loved the papparadelle with short rib Ragu.

This place has excellent service and amazing food. The garlic they bring to the table is addictive and for sale! The quality is outstanding! Do yourself a favor and go!

Every time we come here we get to try something different and every single time we are so impressed with our meal. It's like dining at a new restaurant every time. Can't wait to go back and try more menu items; and their specials.
