BuenaVista Restaurant & Bar is a gourmet Latin American eatery located in Hell’s Kitchen NYC. The restaurant’s ambience, décor and cuisine will leave you feeling that you’ve been on a Latin American tour.

Our aim is to provide first class hospitality along with a memorable culinary experience. From start to finish, you will receive exceptional customer service, mouth-watering food, exotic cocktails and an extensive wine list. Your dining experience will encompass some of the amazing flavors from the Caribbean islands of Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and even some of the undiscovered regions of Mexico & South America.
At BuenaVista you can try "yucca” (or cassava) from Cuba, “barbacoa" (or pozole) from Mexico and Patagonian cuisine from southernmost South America. You'll be able to experience how the regional Caribbean and South American climates influence certain dishes.

I was convinced by other reviews calling this a neighborhood gem, and that description is very apt. A cozy space on a busy stretch of 9th Ave, not fancy but inviting. Food was delicious, portions were very generous, service was attentive and friendly. I had the duck, my husband had the pork osso buco, both were excellent!

Dinner was delicious. The maître de was friendly and stopped by to ensure everything was good - so did the owner. The waitress was extremely friendly and suggested her favorite drink to start - the Guava Basil Margarita. It was amazing!

Every place has a bad night, this was theirs. The place seemed in disorder when we arrived. We thought it was customers disputing the bill but what we later learned was that the system was down and everyone had to pay cash. The owner chose to tell customers that when they received the bill. Poor judgment. He should have told customers this before they were seated and given us the option of dining. Luckily the chef was worth going to the cash machine.

Staff are fantastic!! They will give you great suggestions on the menu. The cocktails are perfect! And the food is really, really good :) I’ll definitely be back.
