Come enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Broken Keel. We are located at 115 E River Street. We offer seating on our outside patio and in our inside historic restaurant. Broken Keel has live music for lunch and dinner every day of the week on our outside patio. We have $2 ship shots every time a cargo ship goes by, OH SHIP! Our signature dishes to come enjoy are our grouper sandwiches and our surf and turf burger topped with pieces of lobster and a creamy lobster bisque.

This restaurant was not we expected based on the reviews we had saw. My wife called the restaurant two hours before going to make sure that the could accommodate our son that has a seafood allergy. The hosted asked the manager and said that would not be an issue. My wife arrived at the restorations 8:20 we sat down and it took about 15 mins for anybody to come a serve us. Finally a waiter came over and introduced herself and my wife told her what we anted as a drinks and we went off to get drinks for us. When she arrived back asked what we wanted too eat. First thing my wife said was my son has a seafood allergy and we called and was told that he could be accommodated. The waitress left the table and came back and said that everything was fired in the same oil as the seafood and wife explained that we would have come if we knew this. She asked for a manager and it took literal 10 mins for someone to come over. He seemed to be confused in his thoughts. To make a long story short we stayed and eat here. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant horrible service and manager that dosent understand things. I rate them. 2/out of 10.

Of the appetizers we tried to order(oysters) they were out of so we ordered a different appetizer (grouper bites) that came out cold. Mixed drink (mojito) was horrible and could not be drank. It was made completely wrong. Only thing good about the whole experience was the salad I had. Staff appeared very disorganized and dealing with upset customers in different section of restaurant. Took 7 minutes for host to check us in and get us to table with a reservation but couple in front of us had no reservation and went straight to a table. Would not recommend as there are better options in the riverfront district.

We had a party of 20. Service was amazing. Food was good and came out quickly.

Waited 1.5 hours for food, never came. Left. Not charged for drinks.

We had a reservation for 7 on Christmas Eve at 6pm. We had the original confirmation and then was asked to confirm to the restaurant we were going to be there. We arrived and were told the restaurant was closing and we shouldn’t have had a reservation. I am not surprised a restaurant would be closed Christmas Eve in general, but the fact they took a reservation and then had us confirm was crazy. And then we didn’t even get anything like an I’m sorry for the confusion, or they must have not updated Open Table correctly. We just got, “yeah we are closing and yeah I’ll let the manager know.” Awful feeling to let down my family on Christmas Eve when I made sure to do all the right steps first.

It was cold and rainy so we had to eat inside. The restaurant was not very busy but we were led to a table for two in a room in the back where we sat by ourselves. The fire cracker shrimp was okay as was the buffalo chicken wrap. Fries were good. We were there for the holiday week and in this restaurant certainly missed the holiday vibe. No holiday drinks and sat in a lonely dark room. Very disappointing. Food was just average.

I can’t believe anyone comes here for the food. We chose this spot for dinner since it was close to our hotel and the menu seemed fine. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize it was more outside-bar/indoor sports shack, with constant loud music and multiple TVs. I had salmon, potatoes, and green beans. Salmon was overcooked, but at least it was warm. Potatoes and beans were cool, with the potatoes being overdone and the beans too undercooked to cut easily with a knife and fork. My wife’s soup and salad were just okay. Every other restaurant we’ve tried during our visit has had very friendly, attentive waitstaff. Not here. Our server never once asked about the food.

The food had great flavor and the drinks were good too. Downside is that it’s not very handicapped accessible. My mom found out after she managed the stairs that there was an elevator. But the staff was so friendly and helped her to the elevator once it was time to leave.

A great place to sit for a river view/ambiance . Food wasn’t particularly great but server did her best to help improve what we received.
