Welcome to the original Bristol Bar & Grille, home of the Green Chili Wontons, Louisville's favorite guilty pleasure. Since 1977, we have been located in the heart of the Highlands. Original menu dishes include the classic Bristol Burger and aged, charbroiled New York Strip steak as well as new favorites like the Pork Dijonnaise and Theresa’s Sweet Chili Linguine. All of our ingredients come from local farmers throughout Kentucky. Our Master Sommelier has crafted an extensive wine menu to pair with each dish. Certified Bourbon Stewards are on hand to answer any questions about Kentucky's native spirit. And Chef Andy Chaney provides daily specials that are sure to leave you coming back for more.

We enjoyed the Father's Day buffet. Great selection of foods to select from. I was pleased with the appetizers in the center section table, cheeses, olives, and the fresh fruit was wonderful.

We had the green chili wontons which were delicious. We also had the chicken Parmesan and the Hot Brown. The portions are perfect and the flavors wonderful! The assistant manager was very friendly and welcoming as well as our server. Great service and food…will definitely be back!!

The food wasn’t bad but the service was very slow. Perhaps they were under staffed. And I thought it was overpriced with small portions. I ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer that cost $12.00 and only got 2 small pieces which was disappointing. I doubt I will return to this restaurant.

We had a large group for a graduation celebration. Everyone was wonderful, great food, restrooms were clean, and the price was outstanding for the amount and quality of the food. They even have options for food allergies. We can’t wait to go back!

We went out to eat on 5/11 to avoid the Mother’s Day crowds. Our reservation was for 5pm and at this time the restaurant was not crowded at all. We were seated inside directly by the door. We had 3 children with us so the seating was not ideal. We asked to move, but were told we couldn’t because the other tables were reserved. We waited an hour and a half for our food to come out. Again, we had 3 children (1, 6, 8) with us, so the wait was challenging with the restlessness of the younger 2, but we got through it. There was no bread served to our table until after waiting 45 minutes. The waiter got our orders incorrect and after waiting for as long as we did, he stated it was due to them getting slammed. Again, when we arrived the restaurant was not busy at all, so I don’t feel our wait should have been as long as it was. I ordered the salmon and it came with asparagus - the asparagus was burnt and the salmon had a weird taste. I’m not sure if the salmon was bad or just cooked poorly, but I left the restaurant still hungry, because I couldn’t eat my food. I chose to not order something else because the experience was that bad. The waiter had a number of mistakes on our bill and the service was just not great. This is the worse restaurant experience I have had and I have no plans to return to give it another chance.

I recall your family sitting near the patio doors and discussing your orders, which included the garden salad with grilled chicken, fried Cobb salad, well-done burger, wontons, kids' chicken tenders, and salmon teriyaki. If I had been fully aware of all the issues at that time, I would have taken immediate action to rectify them, as every customer's satisfaction is incredibly important to us. Delicious dinner at the Bristol! We had the Teriyaki Salmon, Steak Sandwich and of course the famous Green Chili Wontons with an amazing Pinot Noir, served up on the patio on a perfect spring evening. Can't wait to come back soon.
