Home of the Green Chili Wontons, Louisville’s favorite guilty pleasure, Bristol Bar & Grille has been the city’s neighborhood restaurant since 1977. Original menu dishes include the classic Bristol Burger and aged, charbroiled New York Strip steak as well as favorites like Pork Dijonnaise and Theresa’s Sweet Chili Linguine. We source many of our ingredients from local farmers. An award-winning Sunday brunch buffet features made-to-order waffles, Weisenberger grits, fried chicken and a build your own Bloody Mary Bar. Bristol Bar & Grille Master Sommelier, Scott Harper, crafted an extensive wine menu to pair with each dish. Certified Bourbon Stewards are on hand to answer any questions about our native spirit. Great food-we are broadway series patrons-so glad to have this dining experience available on Sunday evenings-by far and away best dining option for people going to the theatre on Sunday evenings. Thanks to the Bristol-always good food downtown!!

Overall the food was good and the meal was a good value. The hostess and waiter was professional, the length of wait time for the meal was surprisingly fast considering the crowd. BUT the restaurant was dated and in need an update throughout. The patio dining area has zero ambiance. Bathrooms were not maintained and old. Best tables are near the front window.

We had reservations at 4:45 maybe 10% of restaurant was occupied. We were not addressed for over 10 minutes. Then they apologized and a new person was the server. She was spectacular after that. I ordered the new your strip Med rare. It came medium ++. No red at all and a hint of pink only in the center, perimeter was well. Presentation was from the 70’s mom and pop restaurant. A scoop on bland mashed potatoes and a steak. My friend ordered a special tuna that was also overcooked. We won’t come back. There are so many places I can eat downtown for $52. We were sad because this is an easy walk to the Center for plays. This is a definite skip if you are looking for good food at a bad value.

We had a very pleasant meal and were out in plenty of time to make our 7:00 curtain, without feeling rushed. Our server seemed rushed, but we did not feel neglected at all. We had everything we needed and she checked on us multiple times. I was disappointed that they were out of the Gruner Veltliner; but it happens. My guest and I shared a pasta dish and they split it in the kitchen (which was much easier for us and was appreciated); my only complaint is that I got one slice of the chicken breast and my guest got the large majority of it. This place remains my go-to for pre-KCA shows. It's very convenient and the food is always delicious.

There were four of us that went to the Raul for dinner before seeing Les Miserables. Our dinners were very good and service was quick. The Bristol offers a great selection of wines and food. We had a great time.
