The Morton family opened the first Brigantine on Shelter Island in 1969, with a vision that embraced the beach town lifestyle, a dedication to flavorful food, and a passion for friendly service.

Today, we’re known far and wide for our San Diego-style surf and turf. From our award-winning fish tacos and freshly shucked oysters, to classic filet mignon or our perpetually best-selling marinated grilled swordfish. Had another wonderful experience here. Food was great, atmosphere was fantastic, but our server, Taylor, made the evening perfect. Highly recommend. We will be back.

I sent my clients for dinner at The Brig Portside Pier and they absolutely LOVED it! I send my clients here frequently for the delicious menu, incredible service and amazing views. LOVE THIS LOCATION! As a concierge, I know that this Brig is consistently great and that my clients will have a great experience.

We’ve been coming to the Brigantine for many years and the harbor location is no exception to the service food and an amazing atmosphere. Harbor views as well as gorgeous access to a walk on the boardwalk. We will be back

Swordfish was wonderful, mahi good, but dry. Shrimp cocktail should have been chilled, along with the plate. Michael was an excellent server, great personality and service. He made our birthday celebration extra special!

The reason why you go to Brigantine on the pier is for the waterfront location and ambiance. I love the outdoor fireplace and the abundance of space heaters outside; especially on a cool night. The food was as good as expected, but if I wanted amazing food, I would honestly choose a different restaurant.

We always have a great time coming to Brigantine at Portside Pier. The service has always been excellent and the view is spectacular. My husband gets the center cut filet mignon every time we come here and he has raved about it every time. But tonight his filet tasted like propane and was a bit cold so he was kind of disappointed. But the rest of the food was amazing! We will definitely be back again and hoping when he gets the filet again next time, it won’t taste like propane but that amazing taste like it has always been.

The ambience was great. One of my meals, the scallops were somewhat dry and not seasoned and my broccolini was cold. I was disappointed in that meal. The other person had the crab stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon. That was delicious and so were the sides. First time there from New Jersey.

Service didn't seem all that great which was surprising to me seeing how you're paying 25 to $30 minimum for a plate. I had asked for my burger to be well done and of course it came back bloody and had to ask them to redo it for me. Not only did it take a long time for them to bring out the first one but it took a while for the second one to come out as well.On top of that the fries were supposed to be garlic truffle you see more like regular french fries than anything else barely any garlic on there at all couldn't even tell they were garlic fries. When I asked for my drink I asked for an orange as well to go with my drink, I had to ask the waiter multiple times to bring it because she kept forgetting. It didn't seem too busy to forget or to not have that good of service but yet service was not as great as I would have expected from a place like this. Went to a different location in La Mesa and got a lot better service there than I did at the port side pure location which was weird to me because the portside Pier location seemed more upscale especially with it being by the water.
