Named by Robb Report as one of the Top 10 Best New Restaurants in the country, Brasero combines South American passion with midwestern grit and brings Chef John Manion's talent for wood-fired Latin cooking to West Town’s bustling restaurant row. This sultry 120-seater draws inspiration from across Latin America, honed through Manion’s decades of experience. Think flame- roasted, whole young chickens slicked with garlic-chili oil, steaks cooked over an open fire alongside chimichurri, and moqueca teeming with mussels, shrimp & Mahi Mahi with coconut-scented rice—all washed down with quenching caipirinhas, locally brewed, Latin-inspired beer and 100 bottles of wine under 100 dollars.

The spirit of South America is calling. Embrace "Vira Lata" alongside 6-10 of your closest friends and family while igniting your connection with the flames from the hearth and our open kitchen. MENU: Dive into Pao de Queijo and Endive Salad to start and our signature Moqueca before taking on our 48 oz Bife Maximo. Our Coal Roasted Sweet Potatoes and seasonal vegetables that will keep you coming back for more before finishing off your intimate dinner with our infamous Coconut Soft Serve. PLEASE NOTE: Parties of 6-10 can only be booked as hearth table experiences. THERE IS A $30 PER PERSON DEPOSIT THAT WILL BE USED TOWARDS FINAL PAYMENT. Service was slow. Restaurant seemed understaffed. Sat at the bar for 15 minutes without being able to place an order for a cocktail. Food was good but definitely all too rich and heavy.

Brasero is an absolute neighborhood gem. In a short amount of time, Brasero has perfected all the finest points of service while still being approachable. The support staff here are on it, water glasses never go dry, empty plates do not linger and resetting for courses are flawless. Servers/hosts/ floor managers are personable and kind without being overbearing. The space is incredible-every time I go, I comment how you truly flipped that space from Funkenhausen. The food. The food is some of the best in the city. Every dish feels intentional and thoughtful. Standouts being the mushrooms, sweet potato (DUH.) and coconut soft serve. Thank you for an amazing meal.

The wait staff was efficient, professional and knowledgeable regarding menu. Autumn was especially helpful! A wonderful and pleasurable dining experience!

Came to Chicago for a birthday getaway. Asked for some recommendations from friends in the industry who frequent the Windy City. This recommendation came from a friend of a friend and was the highlight of the eating experiences. The space was decorated gorgeously...my wife is an interior designer and she was marveling at all of the textures...particularly the colorful chairs at the family table up by the kitchen. The manager helped us pick out the perfect wine and the food was out of this world...met one of the team leaders who has a future relative from our hometown--so hope to return the favor when they visit us here on the coast. Buen Rollo!

Really enjoyed all of our food and drinks! Everything arrived to the table very hot. However, be sure to not order everything at once unless you want to eat it all at once. We ordered 3 small plates to start and they hit the table maybe 30 seconds later. Wanting to enjoy our meal, when the server returned, we said we werent ready to order mains. We were then told the mains would take a about a half hour as it was peak time. We thought this was great as it would give us time to digest. We ordered mains and sides and they all arrived less than 5 minutes later. They were all absolutely delicious. When we took a pause in eating, but knew we would keep picking, we had servers come by every few minutes asking if we were finished so they could pick up our plates. Loved this restaurant but we felt rushed.
