Named by Robb Report as one of the Top 10 Best New Restaurants in the country, Brasero combines South American passion with midwestern grit and brings Chef John Manion's talent for wood-fired Latin cooking to West Town’s bustling restaurant row. This sultry 120-seater draws inspiration from across Latin America, honed through Manion’s decades of experience. Think flame- roasted, whole young chickens slicked with garlic-chili oil, steaks cooked over an open fire alongside chimichurri, and moqueca teeming with mussels, shrimp & Mahi Mahi with coconut-scented rice—all washed down with quenching caipirinhas, locally brewed, Latin-inspired beer and 100 bottles of wine under 100 dollars.

Our Coal Roasted Sweet Potatoes and seasonal vegetables that will keep you coming back for more before finishing off your intimate dinner with our infamous Coconut Soft Serve.     We loved our server…..super friendly, helpful and just a really nice girl. Food was good…..not outstanding.

    A wonderful meal. Drinks, wine selection, and food were all on point. Service was well done. Ambiance comfortable and pacing of the meal very well managed. Definitely look forward to another visit.

    As a Brazilian, I appreciate Brasero’s attempt to bring the rich Brazilian cuisine to American customers, but the execution of some of their dishes was poor and far from the original and typical food. Starting with the “pão de queijo” (cheese bread), very gooey and no taste (lacking salt and more prominent cheese flavor). The moqueca (seafood stew), lacked the typical coconut taste, the fish was overcooked, the rice hiding at the bottom of the dish, for $67 I was expecting way more. The caipirinhas (misspelled as “caiphirinhas”) was made with lemon syrup commonly used in American restaurants instead of real lime juice. Overall, very pricey and disappointing food. It’s a shame because the decor and ambience were great, the servers very knowledgeable and nice. I suggest hiring a Brazilian chef and starting those dishes from scratch. Also, review menu misspellings (“Brazillian” instead of Brazilian).

    We really didn’t like our waitress from the start. I was in mid sentence and apparently she thought I was finished and walked away. She leaned into the table and was very close. The tuna crudo and the ribs as starters were great, although the tuna crudo was a little overpriced. We ordered the mojueca as our main. The flavor profile was good but most of the fish was overcooked. The manager was great! She seemed very interested in our experience and stopped by the table more than once. However, overall we felt it was over priced and the food was just ok. Based on the reviews, I guess others are having a better experience.
