Situé au cœur de la vallée de Brandywine, ce steakhouse américain moderne est à une courte distance en voiture de Philadelphie, de la "Main Line" ou de Wilmington. La rénovation complète pour fêter les 300 ans du Chadds Ford Inn a créé une excellente toile de fond. La cuisine est strictement de type XXIe siècle en mettant l'accent non seulement sur des coupes de qualité supérieure de viande de bœuf, comme le "10 oz. barrel cut ribeye", mais aussi des fruits de mer frais de saison, comme des crabes à carapace molle et du saumon sauvage. Brandywine Prime is by far one of the best restaurants in the area! The food is always amazing and the service is second to none with waitstaff being very knowledgeable, friendly and just really nice! Asking you are contemplating dessert - the butter cake is to die for - my favorite dish in the entire world by far! We would hands down recommend going here anytime of the year for any occasion or just because!

Everything aboug the restaurant was lovely, except for the meal (and the parking lot is a little claustrophobia inducing). Highlight of the meal was the wine and dinner bread. The filet that both I and my date had were cooked accurately to ordered temperature, but were quite bland to near flavorless. If I had received the same steak at a seafood restaurant instead of a steak restaurant I would have had lowered expectations and found it disappointing, but more acceptable in context. In retrospect, I might have given the meal a better opportunity to deliver had I ordered something like a Ribeye that has more potential for flavor, but I might just as well have been even more dissapointed. I regularly produce much more rewarding and flavorful beef/steak meals in my own home and with lower grade cuts (normally I work with Choice grade, and only splurge at home for Prime and above for special occasions, and will use all types of cuts), and I create these home meals at drastically less cost. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I was hoping for a meal that would be on par with something I might get at a Ruth’s Chris, a Morton’s, or a Sullivan’s, but it just wasn’t. I didn’t feel that the main course even measured up to an Outback or Longhorn taste experience. Would I visit again? Yes, but only if someone else was paying.

The food was excellent. I had the Delmonico ribeye and it was some of the best I have ever had. Our Server, Carman, was extremely helpful as well as being very knowledgeable!

Food was very good but we felt the prices were somewhat high. The house white wine-of-the-day was a bargain at $9/glass. The seafood ravioli was very good but 4 pieces for $19 is steep. The salad ingredients were delicious but we found both salads to be over-dressed. The blues background music was tedious. The service was excellent.

Overall, this dining experience was mildly disappointing. 1. The Bar. Seating time was for 8:15pm, but we had to wait about 20 minutes at the bar. The bartenders did not acknowledge us or greet us. They stayed busy with cleaning up - perhaps need some coaching on customer service. A quick "be right with you" would have been fine. We saw this for others, too. The bar does not have much ambience, which is also not helpful. Later in the evening, after dinner, when my wife asked for help making change (for tips), the bartended also said curtly "we're closed". 2. The Food. This is the kind of place where the only big decision is what kind of steak. Unfortunately, the steaks were prepared with too much salt, as was the baked potato I had. My wife did think her sprouts were spot on though. I paid for all that salt later, as I felt very dehydrated overnight. Tasty, yes. A bit of a shortcut for the restaurant to salt / brine everything so much, also yes. Desserts were pretty thin. It would have been great to see a few light and refreshing options on the menu following the (known choice) steaks. Unfortunately nothing like that was there. 3. Service. Overall, if 0 was awful / rude and 10 was perfectly poised and graceful, this was probably a bit below 5. Service when received was competent, but was not delivered cheerfully or gracefully downstairs. For this area, for a $200 check for 2, I expect better. It would not fly in a major city. In general, the vibe was a bit jaded and perhaps targeted at older affluent folks (65+). The meal was generally good, but we don't think we'll be back. The shortcomings in service and ambience made it a less than great date.
