We’ve lived in Lewes for 2 years and this was my first visit to B&B, although I had dined at The Buttery years ago. I so much wanted to love it because of the history and it being a woman-owned business. My parents were visiting and we made a reservation for Saturday at 7. Upon arriving, we waited at the hostess stand for about 5 minutes before being greeted by Philippe, a waiter who was a bit frazzled, but who offered to get us seated and started with water until he could figure out whose table ours would be. He ended up being our waiter and took drink orders, including a cocktail for my husband and me. We ordered the biscuits and those came hit and delicious. We declined other appetizers and placed our order for entrees. Those came to the table very fast, almost too fast as we had not finished the biscuits and our cocktails had still not come. We asked about the cocktails and they were brought to us by the hostess. She was unsure which was which and said, “I know nothing about cocktails.” She went back to the bar to ask but identified them incorrectly based on flavors we tasted from the descriptions. The food was just ok. I ordered the U10 scallops which were much smaller than expected. The dish contained chicken and salmon, neither of which were in the description. My stepmother orders the paella, which was mostly rice. My father’s cordon bleu was rather dry. We declined dessert and asked for the check which took several minutes to procure. Our waiter blamed it on difficulty with the computer and a nearby table that rejected the wine they had selected and time it took him to provide a different bottle. All in all, maybe we’ll return to the Pink Pony, but I doubt we’ll go back for dinner, much as I wanted to enjoy the meal and beautiful setting.

A perfect evening for dinner in the front porch. David took great care of us as always. The butternut squash soup and grouper were excellent.

Another amazing dining experience at Bramble and Brine at the Buttery. From the moment we arrived until we left with our take homes. We started with the Escargot which is a favorite and ordered the Gluten Free Biscuits which was a real treat and a new addition. My husband chose the fish of the day which was a Tile fish and loved it. I chose the Mushroom Gnocchi which had a fresh assortment of the most amazing mushroom varieties. From the moment we entered and were seated by Sandra, and looked in upon by Rebecca, and Phillip and taken care of by David we were pampered and that’s why we love coming here!

Very nice ambiance & service. Appys & soup at $20 each and entrees $44 each I’d say on the pricey side although very good. All things considered we’d try it again for a special occasion.

We had an excellent meal at Bramble and Brine at the Buttery Saturday. After choosing and sampling our wine we ordered our apps and entrees. I chose the New Orleans Caesar salad with dredged oysters and Anchovies and the Poulet Cordon Bleu. My husband chose the Pumpkin Bisque with Crème Fraiche and the Scallops in Mushroom sauce. As a special treat Chef Matt brought out biscuits for us to try. One was gluten free and one was regular and I could not tell the difference! I have been longing to order the biscuits since we started coming but would not because my husband has Celiac and could not partake. Everything was so delicious and beautifully presented. Despite the private party on the porch, the service was top notch. We can’t wait to come back and order a basket of gf biscuits with our next meal!

Sat on the outdoor porch. Celebrating my wife’s birthday, everything was wonderful. Most importantly, my wife had a terrific birthday dinner.

Another excellent meal at Bramble and Brine. We went off our regular routine when my husband ordered the Pumpkin bisque with crème fraiche. The bisque was poured into his bowl at the table. What a presentation! I opted for the New Orleans Caesar salad with dredged oysters, fried white anchovies and the most delectable greens, which name I don’t recall and a delicious dressing. My husband had the Wagyu beef special with purple potatoes and haricot vert seasoned with garlic perfectly prepared. I chose the Poulet Cordon Bleu which was served with the most amazing carrots, and Brussels, over a bed of puréed potatoes. Chef Matt came out to check on us and I specifically asked him about the carrots, and he told me how they were prepared. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Everything was wonderful! We so appreciate the time that David, takes to ensure that my husband’s meal is gluten free, and that Chef Matt takes the time to come and inquire about our meals and shared some insights with us. Rounding out the evening were Rebecca who seated us and checked on us, Phillip who was assisting David, and Rick who does whatever is needed whenever he is in the house! We appreciate you all. Thanks for another wonderful dining experience!

We had a delightful experience on a Saturday night. Our server, David, was exceptional. The menu was interesting and all of our food was well prepared. White cake desert was amazing.

First of all, it took over 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge we were there, then another 5 minutes or so before we even got water. The food was adequate at best—my wife’s chicken was dry and tough, with no discernible cordon blue filling. My scallops tasted old. The service from our waiter was lackluster. It seemed he was more interested in his other parties. For instance, he offered to bring us a bag for taking home our wine. It never came. The music was a bit loud, and French music would have created a better ambiance. Also, all the tables in our room had balloons. While we don’t need balloons while dining, it was obvious that for some reason we didn’t qualify. We have been to Bramble on other occasions, and enjoyed the food and the service. Sorry to report this was not one of them, and will be our last.
