La perle du quartier

Bouchon is the French word for cork. In the small farming village where the owner, Michel Baudouin, grew up, bouchon also refers to the friendly neighborhood bistro. The bouchons in Michel's hometown were supplied by local farms, and so we continue that tradition here.
His memories of simple, delicious, and comforting dishes shared at home or enjoyed at the local bistros inspired him to recreate that experience here in Asheville.

For starters, our forearms stuck to the tabletop, as did the menus. Not that they were dirty, but the finish had softened and needs to be completely redone. Food was quite good but once your arms stick, it detracts. Lighting was far too dim - unlike the pictures in their review that show a warmly lit restaurant. Duck was very good. Bourguignon was good as well. French Onion Soup is among the best I’ve had.

Enjoyed a nice birthday dinner celebration here. Food and wine were good and the service was good. Menu had good selections for everyone in our group.

The reservation was for the bar but tables opened up and they gave us a table on the 2nd floor. This place really made me feel like I was in a French bistro. We both had French onion soup-highly recommended! Delicious trout almondine and my husband enjoyed the duck.The service was very good but at a slower pace so I would make sure to give not be in a rush. We'd definitely go back!

Delicious food and drinks! Service was a little slow at times but overall good. A real French Bistro! Highly recommend.

I really enjoy eating at Bouchon! The food is very tasty and the staff is very friendly. I had the trout and it was buttery and flavorful.

Simply the most incredible food we have had in months and we eat out a lot! We had eaten at The Greenbrier in WV a few nights prior and this was 10 times better! Recommend the Caesar salad and we had the shrimp, scallop and crab cake special on risotto- Amazing My husband started with the fresh oysters and thought they were good sized and very fresh We can’t wait to come back and you just have to go there for delicious food!

I love French food, so I was excited to check this restaurant that self-describes as “comfort French food”. The place is beautiful and cozy. We showed up 45 mins early but had to wait until our reservation time to be seated, because aparently they were full, although I could see at least two tables empty (but not cleaned). After being seated at 8:35 PM appetizers came at around 9:10 PM (long wait). Scargot, just OK, and Pomme Frites poutine, special of the day, tasty but too salty. Our main entree was served at 9:45 PM (we were ready to cancel the order because of the long wait), the pomme fritters came cold, the steak was cold (taste was good and tender), the trout with almonds was warm, but had many burned almonds, it was very plain, and the rice was on the plain and cold side as well. Our server was polite, but short as it seemed that she was the only one running the upstairs floor. Overall, underwhelming experience.

Nothing bad to say. Waiter was friendly. Ambience was nice. Food was really good. I would go back.
