D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : James Beard semifinalist chef Brian Kim has a star hidden inside a star. His MICHELIN-Starred modern Korean restaurant Oiji Mi hides an omakase-style counter in the back, bōm, which has its own MICHELIN Star. Here, 18 seats pull up to a bold black-and-white marble slab for a Korean steakhouse experience featuring custom grills. About a dozen or more courses include Wagyu, king crab, fatty tuna, and other luxuries rounded out with refined versions of the requisite banchan and soup.

The omakase style experience in its own room with a counter one sits around was exquisite. Everything was fluffy and melt-in-your mouth, including the beef. One disappointment: the domestic wine pairing choice was too much on a sour side for many, not really up to the food. The non-alcoholic pairing was quite creative and allowed discovery of some quite interesting aternatives. A few not good notes: when we came into the restaurant 10 minutes early we were told to wait at the bar before being seated while others were shown in? This was aggravating. I'm also not enthused about being charged in full at the time of reservation a few weeks prior which is somewhat obnoxious.
