With one of the most picturesque dining settings in Coronado, the Boathouse is situated on the water, where you can enjoy the romantic views of Glorietta Bay. The iconic cupola-adorned landmark was built in 1887 as a design prototype for the Hotel del Coronado located across the street.

Bluewater Boathouse may be reached by water taxi, the Coronado Bay bridge or via the Silver Strand. The upstairs lounge host Happy Hour, Sunday through Thursday from 3:00pm till 6:00pm and dinner service Friday and Saturday at 4:00pm. Banquet rooms are available for day or evening rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, corporate events and military functions. Surrounded by historical character, stunning views of the Bay and a pristine fresh menu, Bluewater Boathouse is a must see culinary destination.

The place is charming obviously it’s on the waterside and it creates a captive environment with all the right San Diego vibe. I wish they would adjust their lighting a little bit, so it felt a little more intimate for special dinners and I wish they would also lower their music level, our server was great just a little bit slow between courses and to take our order but it was a date night so it worked out well

We ordered the Calamari appetizer, it was very good and a huge portion. The main courses left a bit to be desired. My husband ordered the Halibut and it was delivered cold as well as his potatoes, I ordered the Artichoke Rockfish which came with Risotto which was cold, we both sent our dishes back to the kitchen. My Husband's fish and potatoes came back hot. At first bite, I thought my Risotto was hot, after a few more bites I realized it was not, only lukewarm and bland. The fish was cooked decent and hot, although on the bland side. Overall we were disappointed in our experience. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Probably won't go back

Food was mediocre. Miso Cod tasted weird so sent it back. Then got Halibut, which was dry. Scalloped potatoes and mud buy were very good. Sour Dough bread very good. Nice building, nice views of bay very loud inside. Very good service from Logan. No issue when we sent back the fish.

Our hostess was efficient and friendly and sat us immediately. I like a restaurant that does not require an entire party to be there, as many of us would like to sit down and relax. We appreciate that they sat us right away. The water bottle on the table is also appreciated, as you are not constantly interrupted. The food was delicious and wonderful. The presentation was excellent. The entire evening was well-paced, which was appreciated as we had not seen our good friends in quite a while. The server was one of the best we've ever had as they constantly checked on us, did not rush us, and was very attentive. Thank you for an awesome dining experience and evening!!

Booked Bluewater based on positive reviews, but was disappointed that it’s simply a tourist trap. We were lucky to sit outside on the deck, but evidently a boat in the nearby dock sunk and appeared to leak its fuel, which stunk up the entire outside to the point fire, police, and a hazardous material team were investigating. Not the restaurants fault, but even after fire personnel spoke with the front desk, there was no offer to move our table to avoid the situation outside. Regarding the meal….Oysters Rockefeller should be avoided, unless you like a ton of cheese on top, which in all honesty is not an OR. The walnut crusted halibut was overdone, cold and dry. The sautéed scallops were great though, as were the grits. We waited for a while after we finished eating, but our waitperson was too busy hanging out shooting the breeze and yucking it up for a good while with a nearby table….didn’t even get an obligatory glance. We wanted dessert, but didn’t feel like waiting around or smelling the fuel spill any longer. Suggest you look at other options for your dinner!
