Very nice experience, made to feel welcome in front of house staff in the garden and in the restaurant area. Service was swift and all serving staff were polite, the food in the afternoon tea was lovely, just enough as sometimes there’s too much and it’s a struggle to finish and topped off with complimentary champagne due to a very minor mix up with the booking. Can’t fault it.

Lovely variety of food. Service was nice, staff helpful and brought a birthday brownie with candle which was a nice touch. Partha was a good waitor. Nice ambience for a Sunday not loud but not dead quiet. Nice decor inside and out with a good vibe in the garden & restaurant too

As it was a sunny day everyone was seated in the garden . As we wanted some space to relax & enjoy a quiet chat , we decided to go to the upstairs resturant. This was perfect for us & really enjoyed the space & attentive service. We are 3 ladies who lunch & enjoyed our lunch , alonog with a complimentary Birthday cake to share.

Booked an afternoon tea for a party of 4. I have to put my hand up and state that I did not notify the restaurant in advance that one of my guests was actually vegan (I had said vegetarian), so the chef had to scramble to pull together something for her). Even so, I thought the portions were small for the price of £32 per person (4 quarters which equated to 1 sandwich, 2 scones and 4 pastries). The vegan had just a half of a sandwich, some sorbet and fresh fruit (at full price). I ordered a bottle of Nyetimber as we were celebrating an engagement, but tea and coffee were not offered without chasing (tea/coffee would obviously be included). Lastly, the restaurant was empty, but service was slow and sometimes innatentive. The atmosphere was beatiful and my overseas guests were impressed by the area and decor, but I was left a little underwhelmed. Won't be back.

Bitterly disappointed the worst food I've eaten by far! There was no atmosphere as there was hardly anyone in the the restaurant or bar. Despite the lack of diners the service was also dire.

Had the eggs benedict with smoked salmon. The hollandaise sauce had no taste nor did the salmon which was like the one you get from the supermarket. Presentation was also not the standard you would expect of the establishment, more like you would present a dish at home. The service was also hit and miss.

Service was poor throughout the evening. Dishes and glasses not taken away, so left with little room as it accumulated. Starters came before drinks. Lack of gluten free options. Generally, it was too manic. Disappointed, as I had high expectations for the evening.
