Blue Ribbon Brasserie is built on the vision that originated over 30 years ago in New York City's SoHo at the legendary original Blue Ribbon, well known as the restaurant "where chefs go to eat." Blue Ribbon is also famously ready to serve here in Boston!

The space is highlighted by a 70-foot white Carrera marble bar, an oyster bar, and a 16-seat private dining room. The soaring interior has been designed as a collection of intimate dining spaces featuring cozy leather banquettes, shaded table lamps and bistro tables, and a light-filled solarium with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out into the neighborhood and beckon inside the Boston community and visitors alike.

I had been waiting to check out the place that had the confidence to take over Eastern Standard! It felt good in there, lively, bright, but the service took a while to get attention (it was busy due to concert at Fenway) and the food wasnt super impressive. I’ll try it again for sure, but I didn’t love my first impressions.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal. I had the Shrimp Provencal and it was delicious. My spouse had a burger, a little pinker than he expected but he thought it was very tasty. We also had the roasted Brussel sprouts as an appetizer-these were great. Different from the usual roasted BS app, these had a nice tang. With pomegranate and lemon, the flavor was tasty! The service was excellent, paid enough attention to us that we never felt abandoned and we were not rushed at all despite there being a Sox game and a concert at MGM that evening. Would definitely go back.

Fantastic food, atmosphere--and wonderfully attentive service! Great experience for our group of 8 (before we headed over--very short walk--past Fenway to the MGM theater to hear James Taylor). Thank You Blue Ribbon Team! JayR, Providence RI

At best, the food was mediocre. The service was quite good. It was difficult not to remember when Blue Ribbon's location was the site of the original Eastern Standard, whose food, ambience and service generally were quite outstanding. The cost of eating out is unreasonably high--as restaurant owners attempt to justify entrees ranging from $40 to $75. Inflation is down by two-thirds. It's a strange business model that expects customers to pay such prices, plus service fees ranging 3% to 8% tacked on for employees--in addition to tips. I've long enjoyed eating out, but I've taken to reviewing online menus before choosing where to eat. I'll not return to Blue Ribbon Brasserie. One of the owners' new Kenmore restaurants--Pescador--has already closed, and Blue Ribbon may follow suit. I recall a similar experience at Pescador--mediocre food and excellent service.

Looking for something quick and simple and this exceeded that expectation. Definitely will be back to try more on the menu on future visits.

I loved everything about this restaurant. The food, the service, the ambience, the music. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Boston area. The oysters were particularly tasty. A little pricey overall, but worth it.

Service was attentive and caring. Best was the Mac & Cheese app. Cheese was yummy & pasta and mouth feel comforting. Lamb was good, but expected another chop. Flank steak served too rare, had to send back, was disappointing. Everthing else was good, but for the price tag, expected more.

It was a quiet Sunday night in Kenmore Square with the Red Sox out of town - I assume game days here will be much busier. Huge establishment in a wonderful location. Prices are “high” (not out of line but something to note). With that said the quality of food was excellent, service professional if maybe a little slow but smart and attentive. I’d highly recommend this restaurant as a place for large groups and out of towners looking for something to count on.

The food is good but overpriced which was expected but what bothered me most was that I noted in our request a couple of accommodations (birthday, quiet corner and a dietary issues). None of those were paid attention by the host or waitstaff. Most bothersome was the lack of knowledge about which dishes were safe for the food allergy. Oh and did I mention we the restaurant was 95% empty

I'm a bit wary of reviews these days after raving about Pescador and having it close a few months later. (Doh!!!!) This place next door is a decent replacement for the prior occupant. We had delicious oysters so they are really good at those (important). We also had a really well done steak frites (the steak was cooked as ordered, medium) - the dish was well done. The burger looked fantastic and the Duck club sandwich was also very good and perfectly cooked. The server "Paola" was energetic and did a marvelous job.
