Blue Morel Restaurant and Wine Bar (Named Top 10 New Restaurants in U.S.) combines the finest seasonal ingredients from local, regional, organic and sustainable farms with the culinary creativity of Chef Thomas Ciszak and Chef Bryan Gregg. Nestled in historic Morristown, New Jersey, Blue Morel creates a "Farm to Table" experience serving New American Cuisine.

Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Wine Bar offers a diverse variety of wines by the glass and half glass tastings and is available for receptions up to 25 people. For private dining, Blue Morel features the Wine Room, which seats up to 18 guests. For larger events, weddings and bar mitzvahs, elegant rooms are available to accommodate up to 400 guests.

I've never given a low rating before and hope I never have to do so again, but this restaurant was beyond disappointing. The Marriot/Westin hotel chain that runs this needs to decide if it wants to cater to large, loud private parties within the dining room, or if it is going to try and run the restaurant as a separate elegant dining experience that even remotely deserves to charge these prices. Their placement of chairs on the steps to block the entrance of the restaurant from the partying hotel guests while we were there, still did not prevent them from walking through the dining area for a loud reunion with their friends and taking over the entire restaurant. We had to leave before dessert because the noise level of the adjacent wedding party was actually painful and beyond deafening. A glass railing-height wall around the large noisy group is not the same as a private party room for them. For the prices that they are charging, there are a lot of other restaurants that offer a more enjoyable dining experience.

I feel bad for giving a lower review, but this restaurant is not what I was expecting at all. My vegetables were drowned in butter, the drinks looked like I made them at home. The staff were lovely and were doing their best, but honestly this restaurant made me feel like I was in a budget dining hall in the 80s. Its a nice restaurant by itself with no expectations, but I went here for a romantic date night. It's connected to the hotel, which I did not know. The vibes were just not what was advertised and I wish I had seen a review before going to tell me that.

Service was ok. Food was disappointing and I was not impressed when our meals arrived on badly chipped plates. No excuse for that. This is not the restaurant it used to be.

I’ve been coming here for 15 years and have always loved it. My experience last night was not on par. The food was mediocre and so was the service.

We ate here many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, so we decided to revisit it to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The food and service were wonderful. However, although noting it in my reservation, there was no mention of it upon our arrival, nor at any time. Disappointed.

It is not what it used to be. This was one of my favorite restaurants, and it is not any longer. For what was provided, the food was pricey. Used to be pretty regular here but not anymore. I think they need to reset the restaurant and get back to the things which were done so well there.

Disappointing lunch. Chicken sandwich was rubbery, crab cake was barely fried and tasted fishy. The prior meal was great for dinner, maybe an off lunch day? Service was good, it's a nice place, I would try again.

I have very much enjoyed previous experiences at Blue Morel, but this Mother’s Day was sub par. The menu selections were mediocre at best, the service was just ok (had to ask for things multiple times) and the food preparation was not good (boring appetizers, overcooked/dry halibut, poorly described desserts with child-like accompaniments that included chocolate chips) It felt like the chefs decided to not come to work on Mother’s Day and left it for staff to prepare on their own. And for $100 pp and an automatic (and undisclosed) 20% gratuity, the meal was not worth the expense. For the price, I expected much better.
