We’re more than oysters - we’re Colorado's best seafood restaurant! Opened this year in January, Blue Island Oyster Bar & Seafood brings you a second location location in South metro Denver. Our approach is still the same: to create honest food and drinks, served in a comfortable, casual environment. The restaurant’s culture is inspired by memories of growing up in coastal towns with families of oyster farmers and fishermen. Like them, we strive to bring you superb hospitality and delicious food with a commitment to the freshest seafood at reasonable prices. To ensure this commitment of quality, we’ve partnered with Chris Quartuccio of Blue Island Shellfish Farms in Long Island, NY to bring you nearly daily shipments of seasonal oysters and seafood, offering favorites such as Steamed Mussels, Lobster Rolls, Clam Chowder, Crab Cakes, and fish like halibut, Atlantic cod and salmon, to name a few. We invite you in for dock-to-dish dining at its best!

Our first time. Broad and deep menu. Wine selection was impressive. Food was outstanding. Blake took great care of us. Highly recommended!

I always have a wonderful time at Blue Island. I have either lobsta or oysters! Wait staff is great, TV is on the Broncos! I love it there!

I've been to Blue Island Oyster Bar and Restaurant 3 times. The one thing that stands out from the rest of the competitors is how fresh this food is. Many of the items if not all are made from scratch right in the kitchen. That is hard to find these days. Honestly, I have spent a lot of money here each time, but it's worth it at least for a special occasion\birthday. The oysters can't be fresher. They fly them in daily and they are alive when they come in.

The food was good and the blood orange margaritas are great. The lunch special is a good value, but you always want something else to enhance the meal. Lol. Too bad they charge for bread - but even so, it was delicious.

I was dining with two elderly people and the noise level was challenging - especially with the two little girls SCREAMING behind us for an hour. This is obviously not the restaurants fault, but I would hesitate before bringing older people into that space again.

Our last visit was a disappointing experience, which was too bad because we had been there many times and usually quite happy. We went for an anniversary celebration and had a below average experience this time. We started by ordering a bottle of Champagne and a plate of raw oysters. The wine steward brought out the wrong bottle of wine, which fortunately I caught before he opened it. There are only 4 sparkling wines offered on the menu, and they brought us a bottle that wasn't even listed. They did correct the problem and return with the right bottle. The oysters and additional deviled eggs were ordered were good and our server was friendly and attentive. The server did ask us if we were celebrating any special occasion, which was nice, but when I made the reservation, that was already put in the notes. So that meant either the server or the host did not read the notes for our reservation in advance. The whole point of adding reservation notes is so that the staff can be prepared and create that special touch for special occasions. We ordered the bacon wrapped halibut and the stuffed lobster tail. The halibut was extremely dry with very little flavor. While it should have been most and flakey, it needed a solid knife to cut through it and was very bland, despite the bacon. The lobster was served without the proper utensils to crack the claw and that had to be requested several minutes after the dish was delivered. While the. stuffing was good, the lobster overall was also over cooked and dry and there was no dipping butter or other sauce to make up for that. A small dish of melted butter is pretty standard when serving lobster. We ordered a 2nd bottle of sparkling wine which was of very low quality. It was only a $50 bottle of wine, so we could have ordered better, but usually the wine selections here are quite good. We will return again as normally we have a better dinner. Sometimes there are just off nights.
