The Blue Heron Restaurant is a classically designed seafood and steak joint. The soft hues, pastel shades and vintage style with a contemporary streak in its interior make it a calming place. The restaurant has a comfortable seating arrangement, elegant furnishings and hospitable waiting staff that makes Blue Heron Restaurant a place to enjoy the menu items in large groups, with family or friends in a casual setup. The restaurant also has televisions for entertainment.

Blue Heron Restaurant has a full alcohol bar to accentuate the delicious cuisines. Some of the popular menu items include Sesame Crusted Yellowfin Tuna, Char Grilled Filet Mignon, Shrimp & Cheddar Cheese Grits, House Smoked Pork Chop and Grilled Grouper "Oscar style”. We normally love to eat at the blue Heron, but our experience was somewhat disappointing tonight. It started when they put our party of 10 at a table for eight and then attempted to squeeze two more chairs around the table, despite our having a reservation. Our waitress disappeared for long periods of time and we went without drinks quite frequently, especially water. We had to ask for extra place settings three times before we got them. It took us nearly 2 hours to get our food, despite ordering as quickly as we were given the opportunity. I will still go back to the blue Heron, but do not recommend it for a large party and especially a birthday Unless you come early.

We celebrated my daughter’s birthday here and there were six of us. My husband, son and I came down from Greenville and met up with my son, daughter, and niece who were Clemson students. We were seated in the loft near the window. It was a nice somewhat quiet setting. Everyone enjoyed their dinner (especially the Clemson students!) and were impressed by the quality of the food. We ordered three desserts and I was a little disappointed that they didn’t do anything special to recognize the birthday we were celebrating. I guess I should have brought my own cake or at least a candle. Our server was great. I would highly recommend and return again.

My family and I love this place. Great food! Great atmosphere! If you get a chance to go, you have to get the seasonal cobbler for dessert.

We sat for 30 minutes. No waters filled, no bread brought out. Only got noticed when we left. Ridiculous

The food was excellent and the service fantastic. Took a friend for a birthday dinner and they loved it! Not our first visit - definitely will be back!

This was our first time to the Blue Heron. Our friends told us that they had a good experience, unfortunately that was not the case for us. We did arrive about 45 minutes early as the wine bar next door was closed, and the restaurant was able to seat us early. That was the last good thing. Our original waitress took our drink order only to have another waiter, come and take over for her. He asked for our drink orders again, which we obliged. Well 15 minutes later my drink arrived. Not sure why such a delay as my husband and his friend received their drinks pretty quickly from the bar. Mine was a mini bottle of champagne that you didn’t even need to make. Moving on to dinner. We placed our order but our food didn’t arrive until after several other parties around us , who were seated after us, got theirs. No apology, no manager and no service recovery was offered. My friends salmon was raw and she ordered it well done. My soup was lukewarm. The pesto pasta was very good though. I will never return to this place and I’m sure to tell all my friends. Such a shame as I had expected more.

Too many tables crammed into a small area. Waitstaff and to pass hot plates across the table and over shoulders of guests. The front of house young man was snooty and too immature for the position. Some of the serving dishes appeared dirty. It’s a shame because the food was very good. Oh, except the fried okra on the calamari…that was confusing.

The restaurant was very busy. It took a long time for our food, including our appetizers. Had to ask another server to bring my salad dressing. I was disappointed.
