Blu is located in the beautiful waterfront district of historic East Greenwich, right on a bustling marina. Terrific combo of a great restaurant and beautiful weather. We visited on Labor Day and enjoyed Lobster Bisque and a Lobster Roll, RI Fried Calamari and a Beet & Burrata salad - all very good. Live music was a bit loud so moved to a bar further down on the deck for an after lunch cocktail and enjoyed more excellent service there too.

We have enjoyed the experience at Blu on the Water the last 3 or 4 years in Summer. We have LOVED the sticky calamari for that long. However this time the sticky calamari was $3.00 more than the last few years, understsndable, but the portion size was SIGNIFICANTLY smaller. By half ! That was incredibly disappointing. It was still delicious, but I was still hungry after that. The service was very good, the coffee and key lime pie was delicious, albeit a bit high in price. We asked to be seated in front of the band, but in hindsight, under the canopy NEAR the band would have been ideal. All in all a pleasant experience.

We had lobster salad roll with french fries my friend had very crispy delicious onion rings food was excellent. We had dessert which we split, which is a blueberry caramel topped cheesecake creamy a little skimpy on the size I thought. Our waitress was Brittany. She could’ve been better extremely pleasant. Came back and checked on us. Three times big beautiful smile and it was very busy that day.

There was a band playing live music that was a bit too loud for the size of the location, I had to yell to talk to someone 2 feet from me. Overall, service was quite slow. From the time of sitting down to being served entrees was probably 45-50+ minutes. Drinks also took a while to come from the bar. Because of the noise level, the waitress misheard my dinner order and brought out the wrong side with the entree I had ordered. I flagged the issue to the food runner, who then told me he’d bring out the proper side. The side never came out. Food wasn’t very memorable, and prices seemed a little high for the items too, but that’s probably just a mark up for the location on the water. Staff was friendly and understanding, taking off the up charge for the side I had ordered. Overall experience is probably a 2/5, I don’t think I’d recommend the location to any friends or family and likely won’t be coming back any time soon.

Wonderful place to eat!! Always go for tge Lobster Roll special- you can’t get a better one for the price!! A must try place!! We ate outside since it was not overly hot n it was dry- scenery pretty!!

Beautiful night with great food and live music! Only negative was our table was sat right in front of the live band but it was not as loud as we thought it was going to be-food was excellent must have the sticky calamari!
