Blade 1936 is an upscale casual modern Italian restaurant which took over the historic Blade Tribune and News Building in Oceanside. Blade 1936 features authentic Italian cuisine and wood-fired pizza. Our menu features fresh pastas, local seafood, steaks and sinful desserts. We have Vegan and Gluten Free menus.

Featuring two private dining rooms, Blade 1936 is the perfect venue for your special occasions. Our private wine room seats up to 60 guests and the Chef table seats up to 10. Our outdoor patio is perfect for dining al fresco with your pet.

Both my husband and I enjoyed our dinner. Our server was friendly. Parking was difficult on street parking.

Authentic Italian cuisine, diversified menu with reasonable prices located in an energetic sports bar scene. Friendly and attentive service. Outstanding Tiramisu.

The food was amazing. Service was great. We came in with our 98 years old mom and everyone was amazing. Blade 1936 never ever disappoints!!!!!

No Flavor! Mind you ordered non-meat dishes but when the waiter suggested the fried cauliflower was bland because after all it's cauliflower, I knew I was in trouble. I asked the bust boy if they used salt, pepper, garlic, basil, oregano, etc and he said he didn't know. Our waiter then interjected that they did and appeared offended by my inquiry. The cauliflower though fried to perfection it was full of oil and had literally no flavor, it was like eating crunchy air. The pasta was the veggie rigatoni, it was a bug bowl of the same. A saucey bowl of tomato sauce and sliced veggies. No seasoning no deep umami flavor. The high note was the tuirmisu,it was quite good and I am not a fan of things with espresso but it was yummy. Definitely won't return, not worth the online hype.

How can you go wrong with a chef from Sicily We’ve eaten there several times we are Italian and it meets our standards completely

We had many plates and loved everything! Pasta, pizza, salads… all fresh and authentic with ingredients imported from Italy and handmade at the restaurant. The owner takes time at each table to ensure we were having a great time.

I ordered the veal scallopini and it was tough. Carrots and green beans were so undercooked that I could barely cut into them.

Drinks and food were amazing. Highly recommend starting off with the margherita pizza as an appetizer and then ANY pasta as the main dish. We had the penne arrabiata add sausage and linguine al pesto add chicken. Both were 10/10.
