We had very good food and service but there was an extremely loud private party in the bar area. The restaurant should have closed for that event but instead all restaurant patrons were subjected to very loud partygoers.

We had an amazing time celebrating a birthday dinner at Blackwall Hitch, and our server, Alex, really made the night special! With a party of eight, we had a lot going on, but Alex handled everything like a pro. She was super friendly, attentive, and just got everything right, making sure we all had a fantastic evening. If you're heading to Blackwall Hitch, definitely ask for Alex—she’ll make your night even better!

Today’s visit offered a “second chance” to BH since service on our prior visit was poorly timed and too fast. Unfortunately, this visit exposed either poor management of waitstaff or too few servers to handle the modest volume (at 5:30). Waits were long and no one was assigned to our table on arrival. Food quality was average. I felt sorry for our server who seemed overwhelmed.

The food was just ok. All the meals we ordered had no flavor but the salmon was cooked perfect. The plates and silverware were dirty and had dried food on them. The server was nice. The menu seems like it’s a fancy place but inside it’s no that fancy and the food is not taste wise fancy. Not horrible but would most likely not eat there again.

Very poor service, which was disappointing. They had us in the bar, and the one bartender also had several tables. Poor scheduling and staffing. We tried to be understanding of the situation, but the bartender was also very unpleasant, and flippant. Table of 8. Never got a second round of beverages, a meal was never delivered, even after walking to the bar to inquire about both.

Blackwall by the beach consistently has poor service with understaffed servers and bartenders that really only should serve beer. They charge for bread ($2/slice) without telling the customer. Our meal took almost 90 minutes for six people. There is no one who appears to be in charge. Food when it came out was fine. We have tried blackwall by the sea almost every year since they opened and they can’t get the service right. I think the location is the only thing saving them.

Service was awful. Took 30 minutes to get my drink. Orders came out wrong. Steak was overcooked.

Our 3rd time visiting and continues to be outstanding. We started with apps, Mussels and wings. Wife says, ‘best wings in Delaware’, crispy and tender. Entrees were shrimp tacos and catch of day, Halibut. EXCELLENT! And of course, Margaritas topped it off with great service from waiter.
