This was our first dining experience at Blackwell Barn & Lodge, but it won't be our last. We had a wonderful meal--Shrimp & Grits and Shortribs--and the service was friendly and quick. It's a lovely place with several seating options, and well worth a visit.

The service was great. Food was delicious. Very filling and good value. Perfect restaurant for a date, girls night out, group party or happy hour.

It’s nice to have this located really close in the area. This is my second visit. This visit the lodge burger and fries were really Great. We also ordered the fried lobster tail appetizer. It was not as good this time as the first time we had it. I also ordered the Chef’s chicken pot pie. This was a different spin on a traditional chicken pot Pie. I would not order this again. It was made with shredded chicken, carrot and mushrooms but not in a pie crust and served in a cast iron round pan. A piece of crust was laid on the top of the pan. Not a good concept to me. Needed more broth carrots and celery. This dish is not a winner to me. But the server Brandon was very nice.

Very nice restaurant - “classy”. But considering prices were unreasonably high ($4/can of Coke)…the 3% credit card surcharge was unreasonable! I don’t mind spending $100’s on a nice meal - but the surcharge was an insult !!

Barry, thank you for your excellent review! We are happy you enjoyed dining with us but we are sorry to hear that the cc surcharge has discouraged you from offering a 5-star review of the restaurant. We do our best to be as transparent and honest with our consumers as possible-while all restaurants have adjusted pricing to off-set this cost, most decided to increase their menu prices across the board by at least 5%. We felt that this was unethical to those patrons that chose to pay in cash; we feel strongly that we remain transparent in all that we do. We appreciate your business, and we hope you will understand our need for implementing this policy; we hope you will consider visiting us again soon. Our food was mid (Brussels sprouts, which were over sauced and served in a bowl, so they were kinda drowning, and chicken linguini, which honestly I've had comparable frozen versions of). We were there as a couple & were seated at a high-traffic table even though there were more secluded ones available, and I was missing utensils. I asked for them, but they didn't come so when my entree was delivered I had to get one from another table. Our appetizer came before our drinks (which were very good), and then the entrees came right on the heels of those two, so the dining experience felt like kind of a jumble. I know this place is usually very busy, so maybe they're used to just running full tilt as opposed to timing when the food/drinks are delivered.

Ambiance was amazing. Food was fairly priced but there just wasn’t any flavor to anything we ordered. Drinks were good. We weren’t aware that soda wasn’t free refills which should have been mentioned as most places have free refills. Our server was great but the food did take a long time to come out. I would try here again but maybe for happy hour not necessarily for food.

Great food and service with a fun vibe. The lamb shank was terrific and the Monday burger special is an amazing value.

I love this restaurant and the others own by this company. The food is excellent and the ambience is always nice. This company also owns Smashing Grapes. Again, great food and atmosphere. The lamb chops are delicious!
