Blacklock Shoreditch is set an old furniture factory in the heart of London’s East End. Expect the usual highest quality meat from Phillip Warren in Cornwall for unbeatable value and always lots of fun.

On Sundays it's our award winning Sunday Roasts, almost as good as Mum’s.

Incredible experience from beginning to end — I had made a note that my dining partner was visiting from Malaysia and they adorned the table with flowers in the colours of the Malaysian flag and even left a note saying they hoped he’d had a safe trip. Beyond thoughtful. I had no idea they had done this. Beyond that the service and food was beyond reproach and we went on the butchers night so got steak at the butchers price

We had our first Sunday roast experience here. All was well. The hostess/server? was smug and couldn’t give a single drink recommendation when asked. The food was warm but could’ve came out a tad hotter granted that its an oven roast. Okay overall.

That gravy though! For a New Yorker experiencing their first Sunday Roast, this was more than I could ask for. Tender meat, well seasoned vegetables, excellent drinks and a great ambiance! They had ran out of the apple crumb, but specially made one for us!! Did I mention the gravy!!

Greeted upon arrival by a member of staff. Taken to our table, all of the staff were so friendly and super attentive, especially when it came to drink and gravy top ups! I applaude the staff - they were a truly wonderful team. We ordered the all in (sharing platter roast) and food took about 20 minutes which was quite good considering there were rammed! Unfortunately, the food came out warm and so it quickly became slightly disappointing with taste and flavours. The texture of the Yorkshire became hard and chewy. We can say we enjoyed the meat, it was very good, but would have been better served hotter. The gravy had a beautiful depth to it. The potatoes in the room looked promising with crispy skins however the ones we were served were kinda stodgy and lacked that crispy skin and fluffy centre we thought we had seen on other tables. Cabbage and carrots accompanied the meats. There’s were nice, again would have been better served hot. The only thing served piping hot, suggesting its freshness was the cauliflower cheese, which came in its own dish. This was lovely and flavourful with four cheese married together. Overall it was nice, however the lack of hot food served of the food was a knife to the heart. It was nice to try, but wouldn’t go back anytime soon.

We went for my birthday today the food was unbelievable the beef was 10/10 best beef I’ve had on a roast easy and the cauliflower cheese was to die for also the cheesecake in sublime

Staff was helpful but super busy. The meat was delicious although a bit on the expensive side (but then again it’s London). I’ve put a note on the reservation that it was a birthday as other places have something special on birthdays (like a glass of Prosecco, shot or something else funny, wouldn’t mind paying the little extra if that was the case) but we got only a ‘happy birthday’ from one of the staff. The atmosphere was Loud so not the type of place if you want a quiet date as there is loud music too. Overall I’ll give 5 stars for the food and the service which was quick considering it was a Saturday night.

I have been to many restaurants but the service here was by far the best - second to none. All the staff were inviting and friendly. The star of the show - our waiter James. He was attentive, had a lot of knowledge of the menu, kept our glasses full with the complimentary bottled water provided and I can not recall having to find flag him down at all as he kept a close eye on the table and was often in close proximity. It was the first visiting the Shoreditch branch but won’t be the last as I have already made plans to visit on a Sunday after hearing they do a great roast too. Thank you Blacklock staff and a special thanks again to James!

Absolutely great place Atmosphere food ambience service ( Magden ) you were a star I would really recommend this place. The whole area is so exciting Went for the All in for 2 Try the bread and gravy - should be available on the NHS I rated the noise level as quite high but that and the background music , for me , added to the experience

Given the price, service and quality of food, it’s a matter of when I come back, not if. The waiters really put in an effort with talking through the menu and making it special for someone’s birthday!
