Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old electricity substation on the site of London"s oldest meat market. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our real charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails that give back and wine on tap in our atmospheric subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's.

We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times.

                                                                        This place just leaves me speechless whenever I’ve been. It’s not just the insanely tasty food, it’s the service and literally all the staff are just incredibly welcoming and lovely, without exception. Special mention to Jimmy, he’s just a legend and makes your experience a fantastic one when he’s there… lights up the room with his attitude and his service! My #1 steakhouse in London - today i tried the crumpet and tomatoes, ricotta & toast for starters, and had some Denver steak with chips and gravy. Oh and the cheesecake….. speechles, and they brought back the berries sauce with it!!! Everything super recommended, exceptional quality of ingredients! In conclusion this place is a must go if you’re in the city!

                                                                        We had an incredible experience at blacklock city! Visiting from Australia we had heard that the roast was incredible! Upon arriving and figuring out the roast was only done on Sundays, we learned it was chops night and wow they did not disappoint! My husband usually takes a medium well done, but I coerced him into taking a medium rare and he was blown away by how good the meat was! I don’t think I’ve actually had a better steak myself! Now my husband vows to only cook medium rare! The cocktails were amazing and well priced and the waiter, Dermot was just incredible! Looking after our every need, so friendly and hospitable. He really made the experience and we would highly recommend and definitely come back!

                                                                        I absolutely love Blacklock! Their staff are incredibly friendly and the steak reminds me of eating in America. Their Butcher Block Mondays, where they offer cuts at the price they get it from their vendor, is the best deal in town, hands down. The wine on tap is also a cool feature. Has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants for steak (easily better than Hawksmoor - and cheaper!) in London.

                                                                        Sunday roast was a little disappointing. The potatoes were undercooked / not crispy and Yorkshire pudding dry and overcooked. The meats were the highlight but the trimmings really lowered the overall roast experience.

                                                                        Great Sunday Roast has it has been previously. I would say they need more of a choice when it comes to 0% beers/lagers but apart from that all good.

                                                                        I have not been to Blacklock since the beginning of the year and was very much looking forward to returning for Sunday lunch. The food and experience did not disappoint. First time in Blacklock City, it was great and Dermot our waiter was excellent!

                                                                        Amazing experience for Sunday Lunch, roast dinner was outstanding, my 10 year old said it was the best roast shes ever had. The service is outstanding by both the staff that served us. Fantastic experience we will be back again soon. Amazing
