Blacklock is a modern version of the Great British chophouse. Set in an old electricity substation on the site of London"s oldest meat market. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our real charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails that give back and wine on tap in our atmospheric subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's.

We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times.

We opted for “all in” roast but there was very little meat and what we did have all tasted the same, the crackling was fantastic but we again only each had one piece, again this was tiny, nothing like what we have seen advertised. The cheesecake was good

He spent time going through the menu with us and provided good recommendations. Also got a side on the house since he thought it would complete the meal. Would definitely go again

Service was amazing the first time (James); good the next time and not quite so good last night but nothing to really complain about. Love the Cull Yaw and Pigs Head starters. I have tried the Sirloin (twice now - I had hoped to have the rib eye but they had run out last night), which is delicious. I had the Denver on my second visit and I was not impressed at all - very chewy. Wine ok, not amazing but very very drinkable! Food is overall excellent quality and really good value I think. And it's great that they are a sustainable company.

                                                                        Ordered the ricotta and tomato starter, it was amazing! The tomatoes were so great and the ricotta and herb spread was fresh and really delicious on bread. For drinks I had a watermelon margarita that had a lovely taste. The filets were done perfectly and so flavorful. The sauce with the steak was incredible as well. For sides, the chips were so rich in flavor and the broccoli salad was yummy as well. All around great food, and amazing service as well. Will absolutely tell our friends and would love to return!

                                                                        The food here is superb, the service invariably excellent but...my gosh the noise levels. I feel they've gotten louder. Now admittedly I'm rapidly approaching 50 and possibly not the target market for this place but - it's actually hard to really contemplate the food and wine (both of which are excellent) due to the ear shattering roar - never mind making conversation with your fellow diners. Sad to report that this has probably taken the otherwise flawless Blacklock off the rotation to me.
