Food was great and came out pretty fast. There were at least 3 things that they didn’t have that was on the menu. I feel like the waiter should let the guest know what’s not available before taking the order.

It was a disappointing experience. We celebrated an 82-year-old birthday. Since my family avoids fried foods, and Black Hen offered a smoked option for chicken, it was easy to convince them to eat here. When ordering, we were informed smoked was NOT an option. Since we were already there, we already paid for parking, and meteorologists were predicting inclement weather, we stayed. If Black Hen no longer offers smoked, please update your menu online to allow people to make informed choices.

The food is so good! As soon as you walk in the smell of fried chicken greets you. Everything on the menu was good. The only negative is that we felt rushed. The place is small and we had a 6:30 reservation. After eating the main course we could tell they were ready to turn the table over. Well actually they were our waitress told us.

The waitress was very pleasant and helpful. The meal was excellent with the chicken being piping hot and delicious

A cozy place for sure. It's a bit tough to get around the restaurant if they have a full house. With food that tasty I'm sure they almost always will. Good food in a great location.
