The chicken wings were small and good, the mac and cheese was good the yams was good just not hot they were warm none the less very good. Now the popcorn chicken it was good just to pricy. I'll definitely be going back. The staff was very nice.

Food always great! Shot out to the chef/cook for making good food. The waitress were doing a good job at serving us customers. Music 🎶 was perfect and my husband enjoyed his first time experience

Appetizers and dessert were excellent. I was not too happy about the dinner nor was my friend. I don’t think I’ll be back for dinner maybe to pick up dessert or appetizers

The food was horrible we didn’t like it the chicken was burnt no flavor cornbread was dry the Mac and cheese was chewy and yams tastes like pour cinnamon

This is my review and I know everyone has different expectations when it comes to soul food. My experience growing up eating soul food was that the fried chicken potato salad and collard greens were all savory. The Black Hen uses something to make the fried chicken a little sweet. I don’t like that. They don’t have potato salad but I did try the deviled eggs and they were sweet. That’s a big no no. The collard greens and the MAC and cheese were delicious and I could have dined sufficiently on those two items alone.

Really great meal. Portions are quite large so be sure to be hungry when you go! It's BYO, so if you can want something alcoholic be prepared to pay for a corkage fee. I think this applies to any beverage you bring with you. Though, they have really go lemonade in house as well!

I had a great time at the Black hen. The service was excellent. Staff was very friendly courteous. The food was delicious. The prices were good overall 10 out of 10 highly recommended I had the smoked wings, macaroni and cheese and green beans. Everything was top notch Definitely a must try
