Black Rock Bar & Grill, an award winning steakhouse specializing in certified angus beef steaks served on a sizzling stone.

Due to our high volume and traffic, we cannot hold tables for parties like a reservation system. We have a system called Priority Seating. This system secures a table within our restaurant, however, it does not guarantee an exact seat by time. Priority is placed on your party, and if we are on a wait, your party is placed on top of the wait list as a priority. We will seat you as fast as possible, but cannot guarantee an exact time. If the restaurant is not busy, we will seat the party upon arrival.

We had never gone to a restaurant where you cooked your own meat. So it was a unique and fun experience for us. The appetizer of pretzel bites served with a cheese sauce and a garlic cream cheese sauce was very good. Our soups that we had were very tasty. My 8oz filet had a section with quite a bit of tendon that my dull steak knife couldn’t cut. For $38 I expected a better cut of meat. I did not complain to the server. The meat that I could cut was delicious when cooked with the garlic butter and dipped in Black Rock sauce. Our server was terrific. We will come back but will probably get a different cut of meat.

First time dining there. I expected more. Little to no instruction on preparing the steaks left us with overdone meat. Not an experience we care to repeat.

We had excellent service and food. We were seated in the large room as we had 10 people and it was cold, that was the only downside.

Who's better than Olvia and Seven? Ain't nobody. Either one is professional, attentive, conscientious and kind. The filet, mushrooms, salad were all great. Rock Chicken also excellent. Black Rock is a must. One of our "regular" spots.

My wife and I love BlackRock Steak House and with OpenTable, it makes our experience so much easier to get a seat. we rarely have to wait when we book online, and the food is always fantastic! BlackRock never disappoints!

BlackRock Portage is a winner for every occasion! Service and food are first rate. Steaks are the best around. Our service has been superior every time!! Of course we ask for Seven or Olivia, we are assured of the royal treatment. Best anywhere!!

My parents wanted to grill their own meat, they were served already cooked meat that was dry and over cooked. They also were served the wrong dish at first. Overall a disappointing experience and they won’t go back.

Food and service was great as usual. However the duct(condensation) was dripping next to our table. Besides being distracting the customers sitting at the table adjacent to ours had to keep moving their chairs so they would not get dripped on. There were plenty of other seating options open so I am not sure why they sat us all by the leak. There were cones on the floor in between our tables; indicating it was a known issue.
