WHY EAT ORDINARY, WHEN YOU CAN EAT ON A ROCK?!

You are booking a PRIORITY seating, similar to a call ahead. We do not do reservations. You will be put on our list and when your entire party has arrived you will get the next available table. Please make sure to check in with the host and we will be sure to seat you as soon as possible but this doesn't mean it will be at the exact time of your priority booking. Always a great experience at Black Rock. Love that I have the option to cook my food just the way I like and keeping at a good temperature. The sides were perfect. Great place for special celebrations.

Got there just after 4, the bartender was our server; She was personable, funny, and made it a great experience for a birthday celebration! The lobster bisque was the best it’s been from our previous 2 trips and you can never go wrong with the stone. Ate too much of the dessert but worth it; Husband thoroughly enjoyed a few rounds of the Golden Goose.

It’s a fun restaurant where you cook your own food on a very hot black rock. People that have never been there always enjoy the concept! Our server was great!

The restaurant is uncomfortably warm, due to a poor air conditioning system and the unique hot lava rocks used to cook the steaks. Management has Beijing portable cooling systems to help, but it was tough to enjoy our meal while sweating. Service and food were fine. I’ll probably give it another shot in the winter, when I’ll appreciate the warm atmosphere.

Went for our first time and it was amazing!!! Our server Tyler went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and have a memorable experience.

Food was great, as always. And while our server was polite and didn’t do a bad job, it felt like they must have been very understaffed (although the restaurant didn’t feel very full for a Friday night). We waited probably 18 minutes to just get some water dropped off at our table; and didn’t see our server to order for about 25-30 minutes. After eating was a rather long wait to get our check. I’ve had good experiences so I’ll go back, but if this were my first or only visit, I might not be as likely.

The service and atmosphere were very good. Food was fair (except mashed potatoes which were instant) My favorite was the Brussel Sprouts—DELISH. It is a great concept but the logistics are a little difficult. My steak ended up over cooked because there is no where to move it once it is done cooking. The sides are all scattered as you try to eat over this 700 degree stone. Prices are high since it is for the experience so imo some improvements needed to balance that out But again service was great

I’ve been to Black Rock on numerous occasions and always had a good experience. No so last night. The food was very good but the service was sorely lacking. After being seated for 10 minutes no one had come to our table. I alerted the hostess and it was another 5 minutes before a server showed up. Turns out he was taking care of a large party so he was very busy. It took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. My baked potato didn’t come out until I was almost done with my steak. There’s more but you get the picture. I understand how busy a server can be (I waited tables in a past life) but what annoyed me the most was that most of the staff seemed unconcerned when we pointed out our issues (in a very nice way). The only exception was our server, Mason, who knew we weren’t happy. He felt bad and comped my glass of wine which I appreciated. I told him I knew it wasn’t his fault and tipped him generously. I’m hoping it was just an off night but if the service doesn’t improve on my next visit it will be my last.
