We were looking for a quick but good early dinner on Saturday night. Black Rail squeezed us in as we called at 4:00 for a 5:30 reservation. We were seated on time, service was very good, food was very good and we were able to get to our next stop with no problem. The restaurant has become a go to place for us for an informal but upscale meal.

The food was delicious, but the experience was diminished because the waiter rushed us the entire time, and the service in general wasn’t great. Dirty appetizer plates should be removed once the entrees are delivered. Condiments should be offered with a burger, and with an entree that has French fries. Entree plates should not be cleared when someone is still eating.

My friends and I really enjoyed our time at Black Rail… the food was delicious last night, Nicole did a great job serving us… The heaters kept us perfectly warm in the glow of the decorations and the joy of spending time together is always a winner at Black Rail. We continue to return in the assurance that we will have a great experience.❤️

First time diners. Would say a very good experience overall. Our table was kind of in a weird spot. Right outside the kitchen door, kind of felt like we were just stuck in a corner. There was a bit of a confusion when we were seated as to which server we were going to get. Just a little slow getting started. Food was really good. We had the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer and then their burger and steak sands. All was delicious!!! Was a bit loud but the place was packed so to expected. We would go back for sure.

We used open table to reserve an indoor table - it’s cold at night here now. When we arrived, the receptionist took us outside - I told her we specifically reserved inside - she got indignant and snotty with us - little blond girl with leather pants - then dismissively offered us a small table by the door when there were two dozen empty booths around - I almost left and definitely won’t go back.

Great place for a meeting. Wish some memorable menu items were stilll on menu. Bummed to see them go.

I always ask for a table on the patio to insure a quiet time. They have plenty on heaters and blankets if you need extra warmth. I have never had a server that was not cheerful and helpful. This time I had empanadas and my friend had the harvest salad and shared their Cabernet bottled for them in Napa. We both were quite pleased with our choices. This is my go to restaurant for a lovely outdoor evening.

Looks like a good place to only have drinks but not dinner. Food needs to improve, too expensive for what’s it was. Service was ok. Live music was good.
