The Black Pearl, located in the heart of the city's bustling waterfront on Bannister's Wharf, is one of Newport's best-known and best-loved restaurants. From the warm ambiance and classic cuisine of our Commodore's Room and Tavern to the al-fresco charm of our Waterside Patio, the Black Pearl has something to offer everyone. Enjoy our clam chowder, raw bar, steamed lobster, sandwiches (including burgers, corned beef reuben, salmon, and swordfish), locally caught seafood, and more.

Hours: Open 7 days a week at 11am for Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner.
Reservations: Limited. No reservations will be accepted through the Summer Season.
Dress Code: Casual. Men are required to wear sleeves.

I don’t accept that drinks are served in Plastic cups. Did they hear about all the plastic in the ocean killing fish and destroying the sea. Not very aware for a fish restaurant to say the least

Sorry to hear you didn't like the plastic cups used for our outdoor dining. If you had been inside you would have had every beverage in its appropriate glass.

Nobody greeted us or gave us water for almost 15 minutes after being sat. And it just went downhill from there. I could go on and on. Food was just meh. Service was not good at all and just ever so slightly friendly-ish.

The food was fair. The restrooms were beyond disgusting. Smelled like a porta potty, overflowing trash cans, and no soap…for a 5:00pm reservation.

Outdoor dining on the wharf is great. I wish I cold say the same for the food. The lunch menu is pretty limited, especially if you don't want a full entree meal. The burgers were overcooked and the fries were lukewarm. The drinks were good, especially the mudslide. That rates 5 stars.

We had dinner reservations but got bumped to the outside dining hall unless we wanted to wait an additional 40 minutes for our reservations to start. The food is extremely overpriced for what you get. The pretzel is $12 and is the size of my hand. The shrimp cocktail was $16 and was a joke for what you get. The scallops were rubbery and flavorless. The only good part were the shrimp and grits. Outside only serves drinks on plastic too. The entire experience was underwhelming for several hundred dollars.

Service was good, but other than the clam chowder, the food was pitiful. Fries were cold and greasy. Dinner salads small and tasteless. Also, for prices charged it would be nice to have actual glasses for wine and mixed drinks. Plenty of better options on the wharf.

Absolutely love The Black Pearl. Food was excellent and the service was amazing. Everyone was so accommodating and polite. Would 100% recommend this Newport institution to a friend.

Always loved going to the Black Pearl however, last night was terrible. There was five people in our party and the food had to be sent back and the famous clam chowder was so salty.
