When my wife and I arrived, one of the greeters told me that they are short handed. Even though they were short-handed, they gave their customers all of their attention. The food was delicious and hot. If you are in Hartford, CT, look up Blackeyed Sally's.

We waited 30 minutes to get our drinks and after 50;minutes when the waitress kept handling other tables who had already received and eaten appetizers and two tables that arrived after us, we flagged down the waiter working the other side of the room and asked if he could take our food order. I only left a tip for his assistance in getting us fed. Arrived at 7:15, didn't get to eat until 8:30.

Another great night of music and food! Fish nuggets, wings and mac and cheese bites were tasty for snacking on throughout the show. The pulled pork sandwich was huge and always tasty. I would get the extra sauce on the side next time as it was just a lot more than I’m used to. The cole slaw is a tangy accompaniments and perfect match against the slightly sweet slightly spicy pork. Service was great, noise was not too loud for a conversation, reservations gave us the exact table we wanted. Thanks, BES and OpenTable!

Excellent server. Food was delicious. I have not been there in years but will be sure to go back soon! There was a band playing that night so it was louder than a normal restaurant but the music was great!

I've been coming to Black Eyed Sally's for years and yet my meal of blackened catfish while decent was not as good as it should have been. I brought 3 friends with me who had never been and their meals too were just okay. Sadly no busboys/ girls to clear our table of dirty dishes, glasses, napkins and even when dessert and coffee was delivered no one cleared our table. Unacceptable. I was actually disappointed and embarrassed. My friends possible new patrons were left wondering why I bragged about Sally's. It truly was an underwhelming night. 😢

Our waiter seemed overwhelmed when 3 new tables were seated in his section at almost simultaneously. Subsequently the service suffered. Water glass went unfilled, and when we mentioned we had not received our cornbread with our meals, he came back with cornbread for 4 separate tables. So he was overwhelmed and I didn't observe any bus help for him, as our appetizer plates stayed on the table even after the entrees were delivered. We also waited a long time after asking for our check. I would still recommend Black Eyed Sally's due to the previous dining experiences we've had there. But if your waiter doesn't seem to get to you often enough, speak to the hostess rather than become annoyed. PS Live music was top-notch!

Great food. Shrimp and grits was outstanding. Brisket and ribs were excellent. Nice drinks etc. service spotty. We enjoyed it very much and will be back.
