The newest restaurant at Kingston Resorts showcases the best local fare in a comfortable setting. All 40 beers on tap come from the states of North and South Carolina and the entire menu is Carolina born and brewed. Share small plates and appetizers, try fresh seafood, and house-smoked meats while enjoying ocean views. Order a craft beer at the outdoor beer garden and play favorite yard games such as cornhole in the new event space.

Above the restaurant, find a new event space with high ceilings, exposed wood beams, and floor to ceiling retractable windows with ocean views and an upper balcony for outdoor weddings, receptions, and events overlooking the new pool.

We made a last-minute switch because of the location. It was within walking distance of the hotel, and we could see the restaurant from the pool. Great choice! The food was excellent; we had oysters, hushpuppies, Honeysuckle pizza (a game changer), and desserts. Get the Chocolate Stout Smores cake—a must-have!

Went to the Father's Day lunch. Ordered the small meat platter along with a flight of beers. Tricia, our waitress was super. Plenty of food for my wife and I. Variety excellent and over all quality was very good. Price was decent after an incentive discount of 15%. (normally runs higher than local restaurants).

We had pretty poor service. Took over 45 mins for our appetizer to come out. After it came out our server didn’t come to take our order for another 25 mins. She didn’t have many table to wait on so it was very frustrating. Other servers seemed to be handling twice as many tables just fine. The charred oysters were delicious. But everything else was okay. Brisket was good but Mac and cheese tasted like powder cheeses. The waitress didn’t get the order correct so we didn’t get to try the bbq beans. Maybe I expected to much, it was our first time going and probably our only time.

Loved our meal. Server Keyon was fabulous. Fish and chips a small tad salty but still delicious. Strip steak perfectly done and tender. Look forward to returning.

Black Drum Brewery is overpriced & overrated. The name is also misleading because it is not a brewery. The beers on tap are locally brewed in NC & SC, but Black Drum does not brew beer. When we arrived, we were taken to a table that had not been adequately cleaned, & there was food on the chairs. There were empty tables around us that were clean, so that didn’t make sense. I had to go back to the greeter & ask for our table to be cleaned. We got the bourbon barbecue shrimp appetizer, & the sauce was too sweet. My friend got the bourbon glazed salmon, & the whipped potatoes were over salted. My seafood platter was good, but I have tasted better coleslaw. Our server was very nice & cordial, but after our entrees arrived, we didn’t see her again until it was time for the check. The last time we stayed at Kingston Resort was five years ago. At that time, there were two fine dining restaurants at the resort: Cafe Amalfi & Coastal Grill. We had a very good meal at both places. Both of these restaurants are still there & they both probably still have good food. What really annoys me is that the resort is strongly pushing the new Black Drum, but in my opinion it does not measure up to the other two places. I wanted to give Black Drum a chance, but now I regret that we didn’t dine at Cafe Amalfi. I was not happy with the 3 dessert options at Black Drum, so we went to Cafe Amalfi for dessert & ordered a delicious strawberry cheesecake. The owner of Black Drum needs to make some serious major improvements. In the meantime, I suggest you eat somewhere else.

Everything was good, except the fish. This would not be my go to place for seafood. Stick to the barbecue items. The tap selection was excellent. I would stop here for drinks.

Great place! Love the atmosphere and the pulled pork was amazing! Huge fan of pork rinds and those were great too. Server was a little slow but it was busy. We will definitely go back.

Beautiful location. Waitress Sydney provided excellent service. Food came out lukewarm. BBQ sharing plate had a few good items. Ribs, brisket and macaroni and cheese were good. Other meats and sides were just ok.
