Our guests come here for our award-winning handcrafted beer. They come here for the Southern California twist we've put on the Chicago-style deep dish pizza. Wait staff excellent. Food very good. Kitchen was a little slow. Pleasant dining experience for 12 people party. I am guessing they don’t have expediters so waiter had to being out four plates of food at a time. So that was really my only issue. We were not all served together. But he did his best to get them close together.

Wish there was more than one location in the Hampton roads area. Restaurant is 45 minutes away with traffic. I reserved a table my parents got there early but were not able to sit at the table until we got there. We were late due to a bridge opening. Once there we were seated quickly, but never received a server until we asked 10 minutes later. The server was nice. The food was great. This was my second visit to this location.

My family went to BJ’s for Mother’s Day’s and enjoyed our dinner. So Father’s Day’s came and we decided to go back. The waitress was so nice and efficient. The food is always delicious. I’ve been here three times since Mother’s Day’s. Each time had a different waitress or waiter, all were friendly and knew the menu. Will go back.

Our server was fantastic, we had a little one in our group and he was great with him and brought him something to snack on until the food came and was always super nice. Great server!!

Food service took an hour after placing order. That was too long considering our party had young children.

Save your time and money and find some where else to dine. It was so loud you could barely hear the person in front of you. Service was so slow. Drinks took 30 min. Bar drinks even longer. Appetizers came out with no plates because there weren't any clean. Once dinner came out, it took several trips from the kitchen and took 20 min to get all 10 entrees served. Food runners took no care in keeping there clothing or hands out of our plates/bowls. Ordered coffees with dessert and never saw them.

It was my birthday dinner and I absolutely LOVE their tri tip! It is absolutely my favorite. The drinks were great and the whole experience was wonderful!

We had a party of 12, and our server did a great job at the start managing drinks as the group filtered in to the restaurant. Orders were placed, but when the food came out, we began to have issues! The meals were brought out 3-4 plates at a time with intervals of 5+ minutes between each delivery. No one was able to eat at the same time! A hot meal was cold upon delivery and was sent back to be heated. And one meal, which was just a salad, came out after everyone was done with their meals! Twice we inquired about the slow service for the salad, but there seemed to be no urgency or concern. A guest in our group had severe food allergies and made a request that an item be removed from his salad, but it arrived with the item. He asked for a new one and explained why, a new salad arrived, but it still had the item buried at the bottom of the salad! Due to exposure to the allergen, he had to briefly leave the restaurant to get medication to avoid a reaction. In the end, he did not get a meal. The server then announced that dessert was free to compensate for the issues. She announced that to the entire table, so a few people began ordering dessert because it was made to sound like it was free for everyone in our party, but after two orders were placed, the server started to walk away. The group let her know that there were more orders, and the server said that it was only 2 free desserts! Everyone was confused! In the end, our two botched meals were free of charge and the two desserts were free, but we became aware of multiple tables experiencing similar issues. Our BJ’s experience has been good in the past, and the variety of food on the menu is great for a large party, but our experience last night as out-of-town guests trying to treat our in-town college daughter and her friends along with some family members to dinner was not a celebratory or relaxing experience! Doubt we will return to the Newport News BJ’s!
