It's early September, and we just scored another fantastic meal at Bistro Jeanty! If you are looking for charming, cozy Wine Country ambiance, impeccable service (for us, usually courtesy of John the Bartender and Sarah the hostess), and of course, a restorative, authentically delicious meal of classic home style French cuisine - go to Bistro Jeanty. We make a quarterly (sometimes more) pilgrimage to this darling restaurant, and highly encourage anyone visiting the Napa region to do the same. Our favorites: the steak tartare is divine, and the crispy fried smelts with spicy aioli are absolutely addicting. In summer, seek out their exceptional (though seasonal) tomato salad - a masterpiece in simplicity. On the lighter side, their home smoked trout and potato salad with olive oil is outstanding. One cold days, their recipe for tomato soup in puff pastry tops my 'best of' list every time, and their garlicky, buttery mussels steamed in cider with crème fraiche & grilled bread to sop up all the wonderful broth leaves me breathless. Absolutely adore this place!

The food was outstanding. Started with onion soup and was fortunate to enjoy the daily special of scallops that was wonderful. Finished with a delicious Crepes Suzette. The service was excellent. We sat outside on a beautiful evening and had a delightful dinner and a wonderful time!

Food is always good. Menu is consistent. Although I have nothing to complain about ….I definitely had better service at several other restaurants during my stay.
