Do you love Italian food? A world famous restaurant executive chef says it all by saying, “the best meals in California are at Carmel Bistro Giovanni!” An artful, romantic setting with an international wine list and amazing cocktails.

Try some of our specialties: the "Mamma Mia" features mouth-watering meatballs with pasta and southern Mediterranean-spiced sauce, Veal Osso Bucco, Lamb Shank, steaks, and a plethora of seafood including halibut, salmon and sand dabs! For our gluten-free guests, we can also provide gluten free pasta and bread.

*Patio availability depending on weather. We do have plenty of heat lamps but do not have covered tables outdoors. Please understand this when booking.

* For parties of 6 or more we require a credit card to hold your table with a 24 hour cancellation policy, $25 per person will be applied to your credit card for late cancellations and no shows.

*We have a $30 corkage fee for a standard size bottle (750 ml.) 2 bottle maximum per table.

I canceled my reservation at 8 and rescheduled for 8:15 inside. It was cold and I was in a dress. The host kept arguing that I had booked outside. Drinks were delivered to the wrong table. My husbands was given the wrong food order. Waiter was super friendly and helpful about it. Cooks made 2 delicious meals. Bar made 2 great drinks. Cost was to be expected. Noise level was normal. Wouldn’t go back but don’t regret trying it.

The carbonara was really delicious . The presentation of the meals was well done. Flavor of our appetizers, entree and desert, exceeded our expectations! Highly recommend this restaurant!

What a lovely restraint with delicious food, kind and attentive servers, and such a wonderful crowd. I had Mama’s bolognese for dinner. Delicious. One of the best bolognese sauces I’ve ever had. And to top off the night, it was my birthday. The hostess and waiters were so kind to sing me happy birthday, and it was as if the whole restaurant started singing with them too. Highly recommend Giovanni’s for anyone looking for a nice “home cooked” style meal. This place was great!

The best Bolognese EVER! The only complaint…. maybe not to charge the birthday person dessert! The rest really authentic Italian food!
